Allergan Aesthetics Brings Nine Abstracts, GLP-1 Data to ASDS 2026

Irvine, California – November 03, 2026 -- Allergan Aesthetics, an AbbVie company (NYSE: ABBV), will present nine abstracts at the 2026 American Society for Dermatologic Surgery (ASDS) Annual Meeting, Nov. 5-8 in San Diego, including new data from two Phase 4 studies on aesthetic treatment in patients taking GLP-1-related medications for weight management.

Two Phase 4 studies track satisfaction and psychosocial outcomes after medical weight loss

Both studies will be shown as video oral abstracts and examine facial appearance, skin quality, patient satisfaction and psychosocial outcomes. One evaluates multimodal aesthetic treatment in a medical weight loss cohort (HARMONY IN DIVERSITY). The other assesses hyaluronic acid injectables in the same patient group.

Study investigator Joely Kaufman-Janette, M.D., of Skin Research Institute, said patients experiencing medical weight loss may have aesthetic concerns that extend beyond facial volume or skin quality. She said tracking psychosocial well-being alongside physical changes supports individualized treatment.

Digital imaging compares investigational trenibotE with BOTOX Cosmetic on glabellar lines

A digital image analysis of glabellar line severity and brow position after treatment with investigational trenibotulinumtoxinE (trenibotE) and BOTOX Cosmetic (onabotulinumtoxinA) will be presented at 7:30 a.m. PT on Sunday, Nov. 8, in the Cosmetic Oral Abstract Presentations: Top Ten session. The abstract is titled "Similar Clinical Outcomes in Glabellar Line Severity and Brow Position Following TrenibotE and OnabotA Treatment." Jean Carruthers, M.D., will present on behalf of Shannon Humphrey, M.D. The analysis adds quantitative imaging measures to clinician assessment.

Consumer-trends panel convenes four physicians at 12:30 p.m. PT on Nov. 5

Allergan Aesthetics will host "The Aesthetics Evolution: Inside the Changing Consumer Landscape" in the Special Events Room. Tiffany Libby, M.D., will moderate, with Anthony Rossi, M.D., Kaufman-Janette and Vince Bertucci, M.D. The panel draws on the company's "What Consumers Really Want" report to examine shifting expectations, common misconceptions and medical weight loss in aesthetics.

Remaining abstracts cover exosome skincare and body contouring sequence

The other presentations cover multimodal face and neck treatment across a diverse patient population and a topical human fibroblast-derived exosome serum used with daily skincare or in-office procedures. Those procedures include radiofrequency microneedling, non-ablative laser and diamond tip microdermabrasion. A further abstract examines how treatment sequence affects outcomes and patient experience when cryolipolysis is combined with electromagnetic muscle stimulation for abdominal contouring.

Darin Messina, Ph.D., AbbVie's head of aesthetics research and development, said the company will keep building its clinical research base, including multimodal approaches, to help providers make informed product decisions.
