Forbes Advisor Names Imperial a Top California Medicare Plan

Pasadena – November 03, 2026 -- California Medicare beneficiaries comparing plans before Open Enrollment closes on December 7 have a new data point: Forbes Advisor named Imperial Health Plan of California one of the Best Medicare Advantage Plans in California 2027, and its Imperial Dynamic Plan (HMO) caps out-of-pocket costs at $295.

Imperial scores 4.8 out of 5 in Forbes Advisor's review

Forbes Advisor's research team gave Imperial a 4.8 out of 5 rating. That is the second-highest score among the five companies it recognized. The Imperial Dynamic Plan (HMO) is the company's top-rated plan.

The ranking draws on Forbes Advisor's own evaluation of 290 Medicare Advantage plans in California. It weighed plan-level quality and cost, CMS star ratings, enrollment share, and county coverage.

The Dynamic Plan has the lowest out-of-pocket cap on Forbes' list

Forbes Advisor singled out two strengths. The Imperial Dynamic Plan (HMO) has a $295 maximum out-of-pocket cost, the lowest among the plans Forbes featured. It is also available in 51 California counties, the broadest availability on the list.

Imperial serves members in 51 of California's 58 counties. Its benefits include in-home diagnostic testing, prescription delivery, expanded transportation, and Over-the-Counter (OTC) allowances.

Executives say the review matched how members judge a plan

Sue Dahlkamp, Vice President for Member Experience, said Forbes Advisor looked at quality, cost, and access together, which is how members experience their coverage. CEO Dr. Paveljit Bindra called the recognition "a meaningful moment" for the company's staff.

Open Enrollment runs October 15 to December 7

Current and prospective members can compare and enroll in Imperial's plans during Medicare's Open Enrollment period, which runs from October 15 to December 7. Imperial is also directing broker partners to its plan options.
