AEP Creates AEP Infrastructure Unit Led by Greg Hall

Columbus – November 03, 2026 -- American Electric Power (Nasdaq: AEP) has created AEP Infrastructure, a new business unit that will invest in, build and operate energy infrastructure as electricity demand accelerates, with Greg Hall as its president.

Hall will continue to report to Bill Fehrman, AEP chairman, president and chief executive officer. The unit combines AEP's competitive generation, infrastructure development, and retail and wholesale energy capabilities. AEP says demand growth is driven by large-load customers and economic development.

AEP Infrastructure targets generation acquisitions and contracted new-build capacity

The unit will evaluate generation acquisitions to strengthen AEP's competitive portfolio. It will also develop new generation resources backed by long-term customer contracts.

Two named opportunities fall under its remit: the proposed acquisition of the Longview Power Plant and a recently announced 20-year agreement to develop a fuel cell facility for Google in Wyoming.

Fehrman described the move as building on "an already strong segment" of the business to meet "once-in-a-generation load growth."

AEP Energy and AEP Energy Partners move under the new unit to serve data center and wholesale clients

AEP Energy and AEP Energy Partners will sit within AEP Infrastructure. They provide energy solutions for residential, commercial, industrial, data center and wholesale customers. The unit will also pursue opportunities in customer-owned transmission and distribution infrastructure.

Hall keeps oversight of asset acquisitions and regulated commercial operations

In his new role, Hall will continue to oversee potential asset acquisitions and regulated commercial operations for AEP's vertically integrated operating companies.

Reorganization follows a $100 billion capital plan for 2027 through 2031

AEP expects to invest $100 billion from 2027 through 2031 to serve growing energy needs. The company serves 5.6 million customers in 11 states. It operates the nation's largest electric transmission system, at approximately 40,000 line miles, plus more than 253,000 miles of distribution lines. Its owned and contracted generating capacity totals approximately 34,000 megawatts.
