SHANGHAI – November 03, 2026 -- Envision has supplied certified green ammonia to bunker the Terra Clove, the world's first Very Large Ammonia Carrier (VLAC) with dual-fuel ammonia propulsion, from a plant that currently produces 320,000 tons a year.
The vessel is owned by Eastern Pacific Shipping (EPS) and was built by HD Hyundai Heavy Industries. It was recently named at a ceremony in South Korea.
Envision links production, shipping and marine fuel use for the second time in 2026
The bunkering follows Envision's first commercial green ammonia shipment in February 2026, delivered from Chifeng to LOTTE Fine Chemical at Ulsan Port, South Korea. Envision describes that delivery as the first end-to-end commercial chain from renewable hydrogen synthesis to international maritime logistics. The Terra Clove supply extends the chain to downstream marine fuel application.
Chifeng park in Inner Mongolia targets 1.52 million tons of capacity
The ammonia comes from Envision's Chifeng Green Hydrogen and Ammonia Industrial Park in Inner Mongolia. Planned total capacity is 1.52 million tons, almost five times current output. Bureau Veritas has certified the facility to ISO standards, and the product complies with RFNBO and ISCC requirements.
Envision says the Everllence engine deployment shows green ammonia works as a marine fuel now
Frank Yu, Senior Vice President of Envision Energy, called green ammonia "a viable, scalable marine fuel today." He cited the VLAC's ammonia dual-fuel Everllence engine as the proof point. He also named EPS and LOTTE Fine Chemical as partners.
The Terra Clove can still run on conventional marine fuel. When operating on green ammonia, it achieves significant lifecycle greenhouse gas emission reductions, according to Envision.
