SRT's Jeep Wrangler Scrambler Concept Is a Desert-Racing Pickup

LAS VEGAS – November 02, 2026 -- SRT Performance has unveiled the Jeep Wrangler Scrambler SRT Concept, an open-air pickup built on a Wrangler foundation that is the first high-speed, desert-performance Jeep concept to wear an SRT badge. It reimagines the Jeep CJ-8 Scrambler, which paired Jeep capability with pickup utility.

A first for Wrangler: independent front suspension

The concept uses an all-new, high-travel independent front suspension, a historic first for Wrangler. Developed with off-road racing champion Casey Currie, it is meant to improve stability, steering precision and wheel control at high speed off-road.

The architecture builds on the system first shown on the Jeep Striker Concept. Currie drove his custom Jeep Gladiator "Striker" to a class victory at the NORRA 500 with it. A trophy-truck-inspired rear axle, a heavy-duty wheel package and desert-racing-informed hardware round out the hardware.

Designers reshaped the Wrangler from the A-pillar back

Starting with a Wrangler chassis, designers added longer doors, custom rear bodywork, an integrated pickup bed, a redesigned tailgate, unique fender flares and a structural roll cage. The pickup bed gets a durable spray-applied liner.

Up front, a modern take on the Jeep sharknose design draws from Gladiator styling and classic Jeep trucks. The sharknose was first introduced on a concept at the 2026 Easter Jeep Safari. Punk'n orange paint and bronze-painted beadlock wheels complete the look, along with oversized off-road tires and a lifted suspension.

Rear seats clip out or rotate to face backward

The rear seats clip into floor-mounted hooks. They can be removed entirely or rotated 180 degrees to create rear-facing seating, which Stellantis describes as an industry-segment exclusive. With the seats out, the full bed opens up for camping gear, motorcycles and other adventure equipment.

Inside, performance seating supports occupants during high-speed driving. Dark Graphite leather, orange inserts, contrast stitching, bronze accents and SRT embroidery set the cabin tone. A rear-seat Jeep Multi-panel System is also fitted.

"What happens when SRT stops treating the trail as the limit," asked Tim Kuniskis, head of American Brands, SRT Performance and Direct Connection division at Stellantis North America, framing the concept as SRT's answer.

The concept is described as a vision beyond a production Jeep, with V8 power and desert-racing hardware. The source gives no production plans, pricing or powertrain specifications.
