Ultima Genomics' UG200 Wins Singapore NPM Phase III Sequencing Award
Ultima Genomics' UG200 Wins Singapore NPM Phase III Sequencing Award

Singapore – November 02, 2026 -- Ultima Genomics' UG200 Sequencing Platform has been selected for the SG-INSIGHT cohort of Phase III of Singapore's National Precision Medicine (NPM) program, which will cover about 450,000 individuals. The company calls it its first major win supporting a national-scale clinical whole genome sequencing initiative. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Phase III targets nearly one in 10 Singapore residents

NPM Phase III is about 4.5 times the size of Phase II, which sequenced 100,000 Singaporeans. The new phase also shifts from healthy individuals to patients across a wide spectrum of health conditions. Participants will come from Singapore's three public healthcare clusters: NHG Health, National University Health System (NUHS) and SingHealth.

The program is meant to generate evidence for the safe and effective rollout of genetic screening and the future integration of genomics into public healthcare. Precision Health Research, Singapore (PRECISE) is the central coordinating office. Singapore's Ministry of Health funds Phase III through the NMRC Office, MOH Holdings Pte Ltd.

Lucence-led consortium splits operations across three partners

Ultima won as part of a consortium led by Singapore-based clinical lab Lucence, following what the company describes as an extensive evaluation. Ultima says its bid addressed quality, clinical readiness, pricing and innovation.

Lucence will provide end-to-end clinical program management and local operational leadership. QIAGEN will support sample preparation and automation workflows. Ultima will supply sequencing and genomic analysis capabilities for clinical-grade whole-genome sequencing. The consortium aims to establish a model for future national genomics initiatives.

Solaris 2.0 chemistry, launched February 2026, underpins the bid

The award draws on the UG200 platform and Solaris 2.0 chemistry, both launched in February 2026. Ultima says they enable high-quality, large-scale, low-cost whole genome sequencing.

Ultima CEO Gilad Almogy said the win shows the UG200 can support "cost-sensitive initiatives" and that lower costs can serve national-scale programs across geographies.

Pangenome-aware analysis due by year-end 2026

Ultima has recently launched paired-end sequencing. It is developing pangenome-aware whole-genome sequencing analysis, expected by year-end 2026. The company says both will widen the flexibility of its technology for whole-genome and other large-scale sequencing applications.

Ultima expects SG-INSIGHT to serve as a key reference program as governments, healthcare providers and research institutions weigh broader adoption of precision medicine. The award also strengthens its presence in Asia-Pacific.
