Fort Lauderdale – November 02, 2026 -- Los Angeles-based Nexus Capital Management LP has completed its acquisition of CW Holdings, LLC, the parent of the Coldwater Creek and Soft Surroundings brands, from Newtimes Group. The announcement did not include a purchase price.

Coldwater built a direct-to-consumer platform serving women 45 and older

Coldwater Creek and Soft Surroundings were combined in 2023. The company sells through e-commerce sites and catalogs and reports a loyal, repeat customer base. It is headquartered in Fort Lauderdale, with additional offices in St. Louis, Missouri, and Boston, Massachusetts.

Coldwater Creek was founded in Sandpoint, Idaho, in 1984 and sells apparel, shoes and accessories in misses, petite and women's sizes. Soft Surroundings was founded in St. Louis in 1999 and focuses on apparel and lifestyle products built around softness, comfort and artisanal details.

Nexus plans to back management with operating partners and consumer-brand expertise

Jonathan Whitlock, Partner at Nexus, said the firm will draw on a bench of operating partners and industry experts to support the company's "next phase of growth." Nexus, founded in 2013, describes its mandate as flexible and focused on long-term value creation alongside management teams.

Coldwater CEO David Walde said the company will keep investing in product, customer experience and the channels used to reach new customers. Alex Angelchik, Group Managing Director of Newtimes Group, thanked the Coldwater team for building the platform.

Four advisory firms worked on the deal across both sides

Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP served as legal counsel and Robert W. Baird & Co. Incorporated as financial advisor to Nexus. Greenberg Traurig, LLP acted as legal counsel and The Sage Group LLC as financial advisor to Coldwater.
