Murfreesboro – November 02, 2026 -- A former YMCA building at 205 N. Thompson Lane becomes UFC GYM Murfreesboro on Saturday, Nov. 14, with memberships starting at $24.99 a month and a $1 enrollment offer for early sign-ups.
The grand opening runs from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The celebration begins at 8 a.m. with an MMA skills session and meet-and-greet with UFC veteran Jessica Eye. A ribbon-cutting ceremony follows, along with a Vendor Village showcasing local Murfreesboro businesses. The day closes with a 5 p.m. Country Fusion class, a low-impact workout that blends line dancing with fitness.
The 41,015-square-foot club is UFC GYM's second location in Tennessee and the first major brand expansion of UFC in the Murfreesboro community.
The pre-sale office offers $1 enrollment and a free first month
Founding membership offers are available at the pre-sale office, 202 N. Thompson Ln., Ste. B. They include $1 enrollment on all membership tiers and the first month free. The Access, Performance+ and Elite tiers start at $24.99 a month. Elite members get added perks such as recovery services and unlimited Kids Club access.
The club is built for all ages and abilities
The club says it is not just for hardcore fighters. It offers programming for kids, women and beginners alongside strength and combat training. Facilities include:
- A Youth Program for ages 3 to 12, with Youth Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Youth Boxing and Youth Daily Ultimate Training in a separate Kids Zone with its own full-size gym and drop-off area
- A recovery suite with Normatec compression therapy, red light therapy, hydromassage and a sauna
- A free-weight area with racks and lifting platforms in the original gymnasium
- A cardio deck and an elevated indoor track above the main floor
- A turf zone through the center of the club
- Two full-size fight floors for jiu-jitsu, boxing and MMA
- Group classes in six categories: HIIT, Mind/Body, Strength, Cycle, Cardio and Dance
Personal training comes from coaches certified through a program designed exclusively for UFC GYM. Select tiers include unlimited guest privileges.
A Franklin car dealer is behind the gym
Owner Carmine Grassi, based in Franklin, Tenn., has spent nearly four decades in the automotive industry. He bought INFINITI of Cool Springs in 2011 and acquired Ford Lincoln of Franklin in November 2017. The two dealerships employ more than 375 people combined. The gym is his first venture outside the auto business, and he plans to open two more UFC GYM locations over the next three years.
Grassi says he lost more than 100 pounds through his own fitness journey, and that "this brand means something personal to me." He wants young people in particular to build lasting habits at the club.
The club expects to create more than 40 jobs
The positions span management, coaching, personal training, youth programming, membership and operations. Grassi also plans to work with Middle Tennessee State University and local middle and high school athletic programs, offering student-athletes strength, conditioning and agility training.
