HOUSTON – November 02, 2026 -- Winter campers can now get a portable 5kW diesel heater from BougeRV with a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $289.99, sold through BougeRV.com and Amazon. The company says it warms a 3–4 person tent from 32°F to 68°F in about 8 minutes.
Diesel fuel produces the heat. Electricity runs only the ignition, airflow and controls. Combustion and heated-air pathways are separate, so exhaust vents outside while clean, dry warm air flows into the shelter. The unit has a rugged metal exterior, and its control panel is rated IPX4 for changing weather.
Four safety protections are built in
The heater includes automatic overheat shutoff, short-circuit protection, reverse-connection protection and over-voltage protection.
Setup takes about one minute without tools
The fuel tank, heating unit and core components sit in a single compact body, which reduces exposed connections. A tool-free snap-and-lock connection needs no loose parts, and the design is glove-friendly for cold conditions. A seamless fuel tank, an automotive-grade fuel cap and an exclusive threaded cap are meant to prevent spills and limit diesel odor during transport and use.
An optional carrying bag handles storage and transport. A rain cover is sold separately.
One 5-liter tank runs 9 to 27 hours
Fuel consumption is roughly 0.18–0.53 liters per hour, depending on heat level and operating conditions. BougeRV pitches the runtime at up to three nights. A silent fuel pump and a high-efficiency muffler keep noise down for overnight use, and automatic altitude adjustment works up to 9,842 feet.
A 266Wh battery can power the heater for about 14 hours
For trips without hookups, the heater pairs with BougeRV portable power stations and solar charging products. A compatible 266Wh battery supports up to roughly 14 hours of electrical operation under suitable conditions.
The BougeRV app controls the heater from up to 33 feet away. Users can preheat a tent or change settings without leaving the shelter.
BougeRV General Manager Jason Zheng said the heater is meant to end the choice between unsafe DIY units and costly built-in systems, offering "true plug-and-play simplicity."
Limited-time launch discounts are available on both BougeRV.com and Amazon, and promotional pricing may vary by platform.
