STIHL's First Snow Thrower, the SFA 120, Is Battery-Powered and Starts at $699.99

VIRGINIA BEACH – November 02, 2026 -- STIHL's first snow thrower, the battery-powered SFA 120, is now arriving at authorized STIHL Dealers across the U.S., priced at $699.99 as a bare tool or $899.99 as a set with one AP 300.0 P battery and an AL 301 Charger.

Two batteries can clear a 10-car driveway

Paired with two ALLPRO AP 300.0 P batteries, the SFA 120 can clear up to a 10-car driveway after 2.75 inches of fresh snow. The machine has two battery bays and automatically switches to the second battery when the first runs down.

There is no gas to mix and no pull cord. The AP 300.0 P battery's cold-start function lets the SFA 120 run in outdoor temperatures as low as -4°F.

A 22-inch path and a chute you steer from the handlebar

The SFA 120 clears a 22-inch width and is built for conditions from light powder to wet snow. Its metal-framed steel auger has replaceable rubber paddles, designed to absorb impacts from driveway surfaces and reduce stress on the auger.

The chute rotates 180 degrees and is controlled from the handlebar, so users can redirect snow without stopping. LED headlights light the path ahead, and the handlebar folds for compact storage between storms.

STIHL extends its battery platform into winter

The launch coincides with STIHL's 100th anniversary and marks the company's first move into snow removal. Paul Beblowski, Senior Product Manager at STIHL, said homeowners who already use STIHL for lawn and landscape work can now use their battery system through the winter.

The SFA 120 is sold through STIHL's network of more than 10,000 authorized dealers.
