SMTC Wins Frost & Sullivan's North America EMS Award for 3rd Year

San Antonio – October 31, 2026 -- Electronics manufacturing services provider SMTC has received Frost & Sullivan's 2026 North America Company of the Year Recognition in mid-tier EMS, the third consecutive year it has won the award, according to CEO Mike Buseman.

Frost & Sullivan cited SMTC's strategy effectiveness and strategy execution. The award comes as OEMs put more weight on supply chain resilience, regionalized production and faster response to market changes.

SMTC combines small-provider agility with Tier 1 capabilities, analyst says

Sujan Sami, Senior Research Director at Frost & Sullivan, said SMTC pairs the "flexibility and responsiveness of a smaller EMS company" with capabilities typically associated with larger Tier 1 players. He credited the company's direct access for customer decision-makers from the outset of an engagement.

North American network allows production shifts between sites

SMTC is headquartered in Melbourne, Florida. Its North American footprint includes manufacturing facilities, procurement and logistics centers, RMA, refurbish and repair centers, design and engineering centers, a wire cable and harness operation, and a metal fabrication center. The company can shift production between sites, adjust capacity as demand changes, and help customers move manufacturing closer to key end markets.

Its end-to-end services cover new product introduction (NPI), printed circuit board assembly, systems integration, testing and supply chain management. Customers span aerospace/defense/security, medical and life sciences, advanced computing, robotics, and power and smart infrastructure.

Tariff-related decisions and factory transfers feature in customer programs

SMTC supports customers through factory transfers, operational transitions and tariff-related supply chain decisions. Frost & Sullivan said the company's value engineering, supply chain expertise and disciplined production processes are designed to cut lead times and material costs, improve assembly efficiency, strengthen test coverage, and minimize scrap, rework and field failures.

Structured NPI processes, project simulations, stage gates and Customer Focus Teams give customers visibility from concept to production.

Customer relationships stretch beyond 20 years

Many SMTC customer relationships have lasted more than 20 years, which Frost & Sullivan cited as evidence of the company's dependable support and adaptability to changing production requirements.
