Middletown – October 30, 2026 -- The Brass Tap, a tavern franchise with more than 50 locations nationwide, has signed a franchise agreement to enter Delaware for the first time, with a restaurant planned at Bayberry Town Center in Middletown.

Franchisee Ashil Patel leaves pharma for first restaurant venture
Ashil Patel will operate the Middletown unit after nearly three years in the corporate pharmaceutical industry. He holds a Doctor of Pharmacy degree and has no prior experience in the bar sector. Patel currently lives in Pennsylvania and plans to relocate to Middletown.
He chose the franchise after visiting a family friend who owns a Brass Tap in Marietta, Georgia, and speaking with several other franchisees. Patel said the brand offered "the security and platform of a corporate team guiding us every step of the way."
Menu centers on local craft beer, cocktails and chef-inspired food
The restaurant will offer local and regional craft beers, specialty cocktails, premium wines and a chef-inspired menu. Patel plans to host family nights, football watch parties and local community events.
