BEIJING – October 30, 2026 -- Benewake has put its 18-channel SR18 360° 3D LiDAR into mass production at a price of US$299, with worldwide availability starting November 30, 2026. The SR18 is the first model in the new SR Series, which will also include a 96-channel variant, the SR96.
SR18 weighs 190 g and draws no more than 5 W on average
The SR18 measures 71.8 mm in diameter and 64 mm in height. Benewake targets robot developers with tight space and power budgets, including makers of commercial cleaning robots, robotic lawn mowers, quadruped robots, embodied AI platforms, last-mile delivery robots and industrial mobile robots.
Paired emitters and photodetectors cut crosstalk between channels
Each laser emitter is matched with a dedicated photodetector. Benewake says this reduces inter-channel interference, preserves object contours and keeps ranging data consistent for mapping and localization. The company says it lowers the risk of robots getting lost in highly reflective environments.
Sensor detects objects from 15 cm to 30 m at 10% reflectivity
The SR18 covers 360° horizontally, with a vertical field of view from -8° to +40°. Downward-angled channels detect low-lying obstacles and terrain changes. Benewake highlights robotic lawn mowers, where spotting sudden descents or drop-offs can reduce the risk of falls and damage.
An IP66-rated enclosure and an operating range of -20°C to +60°C allow indoor and outdoor use.
Remote firmware updates reduce on-site servicing
Supported feature enhancements and performance improvements can be delivered without replacing hardware. Benewake says this reduces the need for on-site servicing after deployment.
Four channels carry the SR18 worldwide from November 30
The SR18 will be sold through Mouser Electronics, Amazon, Robu.in and Alibaba.com. Benewake did not disclose SR96 pricing or availability.
