Memphis – October 30, 2026 -- MSM Solutions has launched PortalTrack Print Quality Inspection, a software platform that checks every label at the moment of print and has already run on 40,000 labels a day in the company's own service bureau.
Zebra AI scanners turn label printers into inspection stations
The platform uses Zebra Technologies' fixed industrial scanners with AI-powered anomaly detection and AI-OCR tools. It verifies 1D and 2D barcodes and confirms that human-readable text matches the encoded data. MSM is a Premier Solution Partner and Registered ISV in the Zebra PartnerConnect Program.
If the system detects a defect, it triggers an instant printer interlock, so unreadable labels never enter the supply chain. APIs let the validation data feed into enterprise systems.
Every-label validation replaces sampling ahead of GS1 Sunrise 2027
MSM targets healthcare, manufacturing and logistics production labeling. The software offers dedicated support for healthcare, manufacturing and EPC compliance standards. MSM says validating each label removes the risks of sampling or downstream scanning and helps avoid compliance fees and operational disruption as GS1 Sunrise 2027 and Digital Product Passports take effect.
Customers are piloting the system in their own facilities
Kern Young, Machine Vision and Fixed Industrial Scanning System Engineer at MSM Solutions, said the product is about "capturing the digital identity of every label." He added that customers are currently running pilot validations in their own facilities.
MSM and Zebra Technologies will host a live webinar, "Stop Labeling Errors at the Printer," on Sept. 10, 2026, at 1:00 PM CDT. It will demonstrate the print-time validation workflow.
