Rockwell Expands SecureOT to Help OEMs Meet CRA, Machinery Rules

Milwaukee – October 29, 2026 -- Rockwell Automation (NYSE: ROK) has expanded its SecureOT cybersecurity offering with OEM-focused capabilities, as machine builders face Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) and Machinery Regulation (MR) compliance deadlines in 2026 and 2027.

Rockwell survey finds 63% of OEMs expect cyber risks to continue

According to Rockwell's OEM Advantage Playbook, nearly two in five OEMs are already navigating evolving compliance requirements. Another 63% expect cyber risks to continue. Many still lack visibility into their current readiness and the steps needed to close gaps, the company said.

SecureOT Platform adds machine-level inventories and compliance reporting

The new capabilities run on the SecureOT Platform and combine technology with advisory services. They include:

  • Machine-level asset visibility, with detailed inventories of hardware, software and firmware
  • Vulnerability identification for risks that may affect machine security and compliance
  • Exportable compliance reports for customer transparency, audit preparation and regulatory documentation
  • Cybersecurity assessments and advisory services to identify gaps, establish governance processes and align with standards such as IEC 62443
  • Continuous monitoring of newly disclosed vulnerabilities to support post-deployment cybersecurity obligations
Rockwell targets lower engineering effort for compliance documentation

Rockwell says the platform minimizes the engineering time and risk needed to support compliance and simplifies the documentation regulators require. The aim is to move OEMs from reactive compliance work to a repeatable, scalable process across the machine lifecycle.

Rick Kaun, Rockwell's global director of cybersecurity services, said OEMs face "unprecedented pressure to demonstrate cybersecurity readiness" while still delivering machines on schedule.
