BTQ's MIMIQ Emulator Reaches 35,000 qBraid Developers

VANCOUVER – – October 29, 2026 -- BTQ Technologies (Nasdaq: BTQ; Cboe CA: BTQ) has made MIMIQ, its large-scale quantum emulator, available to more than 35,000 developers on the qBraid platform through qBraid's managed API. MIMIQ was developed by BTQ's wholly owned subsidiary QPerfect and can simulate up to thousands of qubits and millions of gates.

MPS techniques sidestep the memory wall of state-vector simulators

Standard state-vector simulators hit a memory limit at a few dozen qubits, because memory requirements double with every added qubit. MIMIQ combines optimized state-vector emulation with Matrix Product State (MPS) techniques, a compressed representation of quantum states. The approach works only for circuits whose entanglement stays limited.

Developers can test algorithms and error correction before booking QPU time

Users submit circuits from qBraid Runtime and need no MIMIQ infrastructure of their own. BTQ lists three use cases:

  • Validating algorithms at sizes closer to real hardware before using QPU time
  • Studying noise effects and testing error-correction protocols at scale
  • Exploring circuits beyond exact state-vector emulation, using MPS with controlled truncation error

The Provider Plugin connecting the two platforms is open source under the Apache License 2.0. It builds on QPerfect's open-source mimiqcircuits-python library.

qBraid CTO says developers already work beyond the reach of exact simulation

qBraid CTO Ryan Hill said many developers now build alongside AI agents that design, test and iterate on circuits, and that MIMIQ gives both a place to run circuits before they touch hardware. Developers access it through the same SDK they use for other devices on qBraid. qBraid serves developers in more than 100 countries and has been the official development platform of MIT's iQuHACK hackathon for five consecutive years.

BTQ CEO Olivier Roussy Newton framed the integration as part of a strategy to build the infrastructure needed to move quantum computing from research toward practical applications.
