ATLANTA – October 29, 2026 -- CallRail has launched Market Insights, a feature that benchmarks a business's lead performance against industry peers at no additional cost, drawing on more than 130 million daily touchpoints across its network of over 225,000 businesses.
The tool addresses a gap between data volume and interpretation. An 80% call answer rate may look strong in isolation, yet still trail similar businesses. Without a comparison, marketers cannot tell whether a result reflects their own performance or an industry-wide trend.
Five benchmarks cover lead sources, call handling and lead quality
- Top lead sources: compares a business's top five sources with its peers' to guide channel investment.
- Call answer rate: shows how often incoming calls are answered relative to peers, to help reduce missed calls.
- First-time caller rate: measures the share of callers contacting a business for the first time.
- Average call duration: compares call length with industry peers to flag intake and handling gaps.
- Lead qualification rate: benchmarks the percentage of leads marked as qualified.
Peer groups use de-identified data with minimum-size safeguards
Customers can compare themselves by industry, specialty or call volume. Each peer group must meet a minimum size to protect individual business data, and the underlying data is de-identified and aggregated. Customers can opt out at any time. Data refreshes monthly, and the platform issues recommended next steps based on results.
CallRail CMO/CRO Laura Beussman said the feature gives small businesses "a clearer picture of where they're doing well, where they may be falling behind" and what to do about it.
Agency Einstein Industries uses benchmarks to justify client recommendations
Michael Hurley, COO at Einstein Industries, said the feature lets the agency show clients how they compare with similar businesses rather than only month-over-month results. He said this makes it easier to identify opportunities, explain recommendations and demonstrate the value of the agency's work.
The insights are available exclusively to eligible CallRail customers.
