Yara Launches Two Biostimulants in US With Up to 15:1 Trial ROI

TAMPA, Fla. – October 28, 2026 -- Yara North America has made two biostimulant products commercially available in the U.S., reporting trial returns on investment of up to 15:1 in potatoes for one of them.

The products, YaraAmplix PROCOTE OPTIMIZE and YaraAmplix OPTITRAC, follow more than 10 years of research and development, multiyear global trials and four years of U.S. field trials across diverse growing conditions and crops.

PROCOTE OPTIMIZE returns 6:1 in corn and 7:1 in potatoes in U.S. trials

PROCOTE OPTIMIZE is a biostimulant fertilizer coating designed to protect applied phosphorus and unlock phosphorus tied up in the soil. Retailers apply it directly to fertilizer granules, using Yara's proprietary PROCOTE coating technology to ensure even distribution. U.S. trials across multiple crops produced returns of 6:1 in corn and 7:1 in potatoes.

OPTITRAC delivers 15:1 in potatoes and 3:1 in wheat across North American trials

OPTITRAC is a liquid, foliar-applied biostimulant that helps crops manage abiotic stress during periods of high demand. Trials across North America showed returns of 15:1 in potatoes and 3:1 in wheat.

Yara ties biologicals to its fertilizer portfolio

Yara is positioning both products as add-ons to crop nutrition programs rather than standalone inputs. Gustavo Roelants, Senior Biologicals Portfolio Manager at Yara North America, said the company built the YaraAmplix portfolio to help crops use nutrients more efficiently and perform more consistently under stress, raising the return on each fertilizer investment.

Jeff Hartz, Vice President Strategic Marketing at Yara North America, described the U.S. launch as a step toward a complete nutritional and productivity offering. The retailer-applied coating model places distributors at the point of application for PROCOTE OPTIMIZE.

Growers can obtain the products through local Yara representatives or retailers.
