NEW YORK – October 28, 2026 -- Andel, a direct-to-employer medication marketplace, has agreed a collaboration with Novo to offer Wegovy, including the once-daily Wegovy pill and Wegovy HD, to its employer network. Both products launched earlier in 2026.

Employers set their own contribution toward obesity treatment

Under the model, employers decide how much to contribute toward each employee's treatment. This lowers out-of-pocket costs for staff while employers keep control of spending. Andel manages the process from prescription verification to delivery through its app.

Andel pitches the offering at employers facing rising medication expenses and sells it as a route outside traditional pharmacy benefits. Large companies, small businesses and startups can all choose a contribution level that fits their budgets. Employees receive manufacturer-direct pricing across Andel's medication platform.

Andel CEO says the platform removes insurance friction

Founder and CEO Jay Bregman said Andel lets employers pay for prescriptions "without insurance friction." Tom Scales, Novo's Senior Vice President for Market Access and Public Affairs, said the collaboration gives employers another way to support eligible people in accessing treatment in consultation with their healthcare professional.

Cooperative runs on tax-free dollars and $4.5 million in seed funding

Andel operates as a cooperative marketplace linking employers and pharmaceutical manufacturers, using tax-free dollars rather than insurance. It has raised $4.5 million in initial venture funding. The platform works alongside existing benefits and lets members keep their own doctors. Andel Pharmacy, LLC is a licensed pharmacy.

The Andel Discount Drug Program is not insurance. Discounts vary by provider and apply only at contracted in-network providers, and participants pay the discounted charges themselves.
