Magic Kingdom Adds Miss Fritter Ride and Off-Road Cars Rally

United States – October 22, 2026 -- Magic Kingdom's Frontierland is getting a second Cars attraction, Miss Fritter's Daredevil Spin-Along, alongside an off-road racing ride called Cars Ridge Run Rally. Disney announced both at D23 2026, where Michael Hundgen, Vice President Creative for Walt Disney World, and Imagineer Jason Grandt shared the details on the Horizons: A Carousel of Progress stage.

Miss Fritter hosts a demolition derby at Piston Peak

Making its public debut, Miss Fritter's Daredevil Spin-Along is inspired by the "Diva of Demolition" from Cars 3. The ride features Miss Fritter as a school-bus-sized animatronic who hosts her "wildest demolition derby yet."

Cars Ridge Run Rally sends racers up an icy Piston Peak

Grandt described the racing attraction as a quest to find the "wildest racer in the wheelderness" and take the "fastest lap in the west." The course winds through the rugged scenery of America's national parks, including a climb up Piston Peak, where a snow-covered summit awaits. Grandt said he is especially excited to see the frosty peak at night.

After the climb, racers plummet down a camelback descent and navigate a geyser field. The race ends with a lap around the Old Tankfull geyser and a sprint to the finish line, where Lightning McQueen and Mater cover the action live on Racing Sports Network.

A new ride vehicle drives over the terrain itself

The attraction debuts a ride vehicle designed not to simulate an off-road car but to be one. Hundgen said guests will "feel every bump, drop, and rock" because the vehicle's tires and suspension drive over and react to the terrain. He said progress is already fully underway and called the visible construction "Imagineering in the round."

At the Imagineering: Horizons pavilion, D23 attendees saw a 225-square-foot scale model of the entire Piston Peak National Park project. It showed the off-road challenges, ridges, rivers, mud flats and tree-covered trails.

Piston Peak extends the Liberty Square-to-Frontierland story

Piston Peak National Park is part of the largest expansion in the history of Magic Kingdom. Disney describes it as a fictional wilderness inspired by the Rocky Mountain area and the American Frontier, with towering trees, snowcapped mountains, waterfalls, rivers and geysers. Guests can explore a visitor lodge, Ranger HQ and trails, all set in the Disney and Pixar Cars universe.

Imagineers are using "Parkitecture," an architecture style developed by the National Park Service, so the buildings blend into the landscape. Trees will form a natural barrier between the rally and the rest of Frontierland and Liberty Square. Rugged mountains will sit along a waterway across from Grizzly Hall, and geysers from Big Thunder Mountain Railroad will reach into the rally's trails.

A Disney Villains land is under construction beyond Big Thunder

Beyond Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Imagineers are building the first-ever land inspired by the Disney Villains. It will include two major attractions, dining and shopping. More details are coming soon.
