SeaWorld Rescue Teams Have Helped 43,000+ Animals

United States – October 22, 2026 -- SeaWorld's Animal Rescue Teams have helped rescue more than 43,000 sick, injured and orphaned animals over more than 60 years, and they remain on call 24/7/365.

Thirteen rescued beluga whales have arrived in the United States

Two successful transports have brought the 13 beluga to the US. They are part of an international mission to save 30 beluga whales, described as one of the largest and most complex marine mammal rescue efforts ever undertaken.

Rescue teams work with government agencies and zoos around the clock

SeaWorld's animal care, veterinary and rescue experts partner with state, local and federal agencies, stranding networks, zoos and aquariums, and conservationists. The goal in every case is rehabilitation and a return to the wild.

Rescuers have built prosthetics and specialized wet suits

No two rescues are the same. The teams have created prosthetics, healed cracked turtle shells, invented specialized wet suits and nursed orphaned animals.

Animals deemed non-releasable receive lifelong care

A few animals have conditions that independent groups or regulatory agencies deem non-releasable. They get lifelong care at SeaWorld or at an accredited facility.

Park visits help fund the rescue work, which stands at more than 43,000 animals and counting.
