Miami Car Wash Becomes a Haunted Tunnel of Terror for One Night

MIAMI – October 19, 2026 -- Drivers in Miami can get a car wash and a scare on Wednesday, Oct. 21, from 5 to 9 p.m., when El Car Wash at 6695 W. Flagler St. turns its tunnel into a "Tunnel of Terror." Every car that goes through gets two free tickets to House of Horror Haunted Carnival, while supplies last.

Scare actors and a DJ take over the wash tunnel

House of Horror scare actors and Howie, the carnival's resident villain, will wait for cars inside the tunnel. The tunnel will glow red, and a DJ will play a spooky soundtrack all evening. Standard El Car Wash pricing applies.

Tony Albelo, President of Loud And Live, said the company wanted to bring fear to the neighborhood. In his words, a car wash tunnel at night is "about as trapped as you can get."

Free tickets send drivers on to Tropical Park

The scare characters will hand out the tickets, limited to two per vehicle. They are good at the carnival's five haunted houses at Tropical Park.

The takeover is a countdown event for House of Horror's 25th anniversary season, its first at Tropical Park. One ticket covers:

  • Five all-new haunted houses, including Howie's Blind Terror, a haunted dark rollercoaster
  • Unlimited carnival rides
  • Scare zones
  • House of Little Horrors, a low-scare zone for families
  • Weekly themed nights, including Noches de Reparto every Thursday
  • Free parking
The carnival runs nightly through Nov. 1

House of Horror is open Sept. 24 through Nov. 1, 2026, at Tropical Park, 7900 SW 40th St., Miami. Hours are 6 to 11 p.m. Monday through Thursday and Sunday, and 6 p.m. to midnight on Friday and Saturday.

Online general admission costs $39.99, and tickets for ages 6 and under cost $19.99. At the door, general admission is $45.99 and tickets for ages 6 and under are $20.99. Weeknight specials are available, and all prices are plus taxes and fees.
