Infant Tongue Tie And Lip Tie Explained In HelloNation Article Featuring Dental Expert Dr. Alex Hamilton
Image File
Original HTML

The article outlines how tongue and lip ties affect feeding and when a frenotomy may be recommended.

BRYANT, Ark., Oct. 6, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- What should parents know if their infant has difficulty feeding due to restricted oral movement? HelloNation has published a HelloNation article that provides the answer, explaining how tongue tie and lip tie can impact infant feeding and development.

The HelloNation article explains that tongue tie and lip tie occur when the tissue connecting the tongue or upper lip is unusually tight, limiting normal movement. These conditions can affect how infants latch during breastfeeding or bottle-feeding, often leading to frustration for both the baby and parent. Early recognition of these challenges allows families to seek evaluation and determine whether treatment may be beneficial.

The article describes common signs associated with tongue tie and lip tie. Infants may struggle to latch properly, slip off during feeding, or make clicking sounds while nursing. Feeding sessions may take longer than expected, and babies may show signs of discomfort or difficulty maintaining suction. These issues can impact nutrition and weight gain, making early assessment important for overall health.

Dentist Dr. Alex Hamilton is featured in the article as a source of insight into evaluating and managing these conditions. The article explains that a procedure called a frenotomy may be recommended in certain cases. This minor procedure releases the tight tissue, allowing the tongue or lip to move more freely. It is typically quick and minimally invasive, with many infants able to feed immediately afterward.

The article emphasizes that a thorough evaluation is necessary before recommending treatment. Healthcare providers consider feeding behavior, oral movement, weight gain, and overall health when determining whether a frenotomy is appropriate. Not all cases require intervention, as some infants with mild restrictions are able to feed effectively without treatment.

Beyond feeding, the article notes that tongue tie and lip tie may influence oral development over time. Limited tongue movement can contribute to speech challenges later in childhood, while lip tie may affect how the upper lip functions during feeding and development. Addressing these concerns early can support long-term oral health and development.

The procedure itself is described as straightforward. During a frenotomy, the restricted tissue is carefully released to improve mobility. Healing is generally quick, and some providers may recommend gentle stretches or exercises to support proper recovery. Follow-up care may include monitoring feeding improvements and ensuring that the infant is gaining weight appropriately.

The article also highlights the importance of consulting qualified professionals. Parents are encouraged to work with pediatricians, lactation consultants, or pediatric dentists who can evaluate the infant's condition and provide guidance based on individual needs. This collaborative approach helps ensure that treatment decisions are well-informed and appropriate.

Ongoing monitoring is another important aspect discussed in the article. After a frenotomy, some infants may require follow-up visits to confirm that healing is progressing and that feeding has improved. Tracking feeding patterns and comfort levels helps caregivers and providers assess the success of the procedure.

Overall, the article presents tongue tie and lip tie as conditions that can be effectively managed with proper evaluation and care. By understanding the signs, treatment options, and potential outcomes, parents can make informed decisions that support their infant's feeding, comfort, and development.

Understanding Infant Tongue Tie and Lip Tie features insights from Dr. Alex Hamilton, Dentist of Bryant, Arkansas, in HelloNation.

In HelloNation, Non-Revenue Water in Aging New England Systems Examined by Utility Technology Expert Marty Mazzella of Sudbury
Image File

A new HelloNation article outlines practical strategies for water utilities to identify and reduce water loss in older distribution systems.

SUDBURY, Mass., Oct. 6, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- How can water utilities in New England identify and reduce non-revenue water before it quietly drains their operating budgets for years at a time? A HelloNation article takes on that question directly and offers utility managers a practical framework for understanding where losses come from and how to catch them early.

The HelloNation article explains that non-revenue water refers to any water that is treated and pumped into a distribution system but never billed to a customer. The gap between what a system produces and what it collects revenue for can persist for years without anyone identifying the full scope of the loss. The article notes that the problem is especially common in New England, where many distribution systems were built decades ago and are now showing significant signs of age.

The article describes three broad categories that contribute to non-revenue water. Real losses, which include leaks in mains, service lines, and storage facilities, tend to be the largest contributor in aging systems and the most difficult to identify without intentional monitoring. Apparent losses cover meter inaccuracies and unauthorized consumption. Unbilled authorized consumption includes legitimate system activities such as firefighting and main flushing that are never charged to an account. In older New England systems, real losses are where the article focuses the most attention.

The HelloNation article outlines how utilities calculate non-revenue water through a water balance, measuring total system input over a set period and subtracting total billed volume. The article notes that most industry guidance treats a non-revenue water rate above ten percent as a signal that further investigation is needed, and that many older systems in the region are already well above that threshold.

Utility Technology Experts understand the value of proactive monitoring, and the article details several practical approaches. Elevated minimum night flow is described as one of the most reliable early warning signs. Between midnight and four in the morning, customer demand is at its lowest, and any flow that exceeds what legitimate overnight use can explain is likely escaping through a leak somewhere in the network. Tracking those overnight flow levels consistently and comparing them against historical baselines gives a utility an early signal before any visible damage occurs.

The article also describes how zone-level data helps utilities narrow down where losses are developing. When a distribution network is divided into district metered areas and consumption trends are tracked at that scale, unexplained increases in a specific zone often point to a developing problem in that area. Utility Technology Experts recognize that in systems where pipe materials range from cast iron to early plastic, those anomalies can appear weeks or months before a leak surfaces or triggers a customer complaint.

Customer-level meter data adds another layer of visibility, the article notes. Comparing a customer's current usage to their own historical patterns can reveal aging meters that are under-registering due to wear, contributing to apparent losses without any visible field problem. The article concludes that utilities willing to investigate anomalies early rather than explaining them away tend to experience fewer major failures and more predictable operating costs over time.

How to Reduce Non-Revenue Water in Older New England Distribution Systems features insights from Marty Mazzella, Utility Technology Expert of Sudbury, Massachusetts, in HelloNation.

Incognia Launches AI Agent Detection for Financial Institutions

New capabilities look beyond agent identity to assess the risk behind individual AI-initiated actions

SAN JOSE, Calif., Oct. 6, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- As AI agents begin making purchases, payments and account changes on behalf of consumers, financial institutions face a new challenge: knowing an AI agent is legitimate does not necessarily mean the action it is taking is authorized by the person behind it.

Incognia, the leader in cross-device risk intelligence, today introduced AI Agent Detection, a new capability designed to help financial institutions identify agentic activity and assess the risk behind AI-initiated actions. The company is also expanding its web risk intelligence with Web Behavioral Biometrics and introducing an MCP Server that brings Incognia intelligence into compatible AI applications used for fraud investigations.

"While FIs are progressing ahead on agentic AI, many lack reliable verification, detection, and governance frameworks to manage the underlying risks appropriately," says Jim Mortenson, Fraud Strategic Advisor at Datos Insights. "Organizations must invest now in innovative control infrastructures to distinguish between good and bad humans as well as the agents acting on their behalf in order to create long-term resilience and reduce the risk of costly redesigns."

Incognia's approach evaluates the agent and the action separately. AI Agent Detection combines signed-request verification, agent-origin classification, bot and automation detection and Incognia's broader risk intelligence. When an action requires additional confidence, financial institutions can verify it against signals from the customer's trusted devices, account activity, device integrity, network and location.

"AI agents change the trust problem for financial institutions," said André Ferraz, co-founder and CEO of Incognia. "Knowing that a request came from a legitimate agent isn't the same as knowing that a specific action should be allowed. Businesses need to connect that request back to the real customer and the context surrounding the action so they can support legitimate agentic experiences without giving up the risk controls they've spent years building."

Incognia is also extending its risk intelligence across web interactions with Web Behavioral Biometrics, adding signals such as mouse movement, keyboard interaction and copy-and-paste activity to its existing browser, device, automation and location intelligence. When additional verification is needed, Incognia can connect the web session to a trusted mobile device, providing additional evidence to determine whether the person behind the interaction is legitimate.

Incognia's new MCP Server brings that intelligence into AI-assisted fraud investigations. Fraud analysts can use compatible AI applications to retrieve relevant evidence, identify connections across devices and accounts and organize findings for review using natural-language questions. The initial MCP experience is read-only, keeping enforcement decisions and actions under human control.

Incognia combines apartment-level location intelligence with device and behavioral signals to continuously recognize trusted users across devices and sessions, while detecting fraud. The company supports global companies across mobility, marketplaces and financial services, helping prevent fraud while reducing friction for legitimate users. In the news release, tm:rw Turns Its Times Square Flagship Into Ten Live Studios, Shoppable on TikTok Shop, issued 06-Oct-2026 by tm:rw over PR Newswire, we are advised by the company that the number of live studios and the list of partner brands have been updated. The complete, corrected release follows:

tm:rw Turns Its Times Square Flagship Into Nine Live Studios, Shoppable on TikTok Shop

Nine branded studios and eleven partner brands turn tm:rw's Times Square flagship into one continuous shoppable livestream, with a permanent live studio staying open for creators

NEW YORK, Oct. 6, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- tm:rw, the global destination for innovation, today launched tm:rw Studios, the world's first in-store social commerce event, broadcast live on TikTok Shop from tm:rw's 22,000 sq ft Times Square flagship.

Nine studios have been built inside the store, each dedicated to a different partner brand. From 6:30 PM ET, hosts and creators move from studio to studio in one unbroken live broadcast, demonstrating each innovation in a real physical space rather than in front of a ring light. Viewers watching on TikTok Shop can buy what they see in the moment, without leaving the stream. Products appear on screen as they're demonstrated, with studio-exclusive drops, giveaways and deals available only while the stream is live.

Live shopping has so far mostly meant a creator in a bedroom or a studio set, holding up a product nobody can touch. That's a particular problem for innovation, where the whole point is the moment you experience it for yourself. tm:rw Studios turns an entire working flagship store into the set, so what viewers see on their phone is the same experience customers are having on the shop floor in Times Square.

Eleven brands make up the launch lineup: TDM, Whoop, HoverAir, Cozyla, Robosen, Amazon, Anker, Memomind, AEKE, Target Darts and SIQ. Each has featured innovations placed inside a studio, demonstrated live on camera for the first time. Creators and co-hosts appear throughout the evening, including Nick Kosir, Maria Pratt and Pablo Velasco.

One studio stays permanently. Beyond the launch, an always-on live studio remains inside the flagship, free for creators and the public to stream from, making live commerce a fixture of the store rather than a one-night event.

The timing reflects TikTok Shop's momentum. U.S. gross merchandise value nearly doubled to an estimated $11.8 billion in the first half of 2026, putting the platform on track to cross $100 billion globally by year's end, with the U.S. now its largest market.

"At tm:rw, we pride ourselves on being first," said Nathalie Bernce, Co-Founder and CEO of tm:rw. "tm:rw Studios is exactly that. Commerce and content are now the same thing, and the proof is that a store can be a broadcast. We built nine studios and a permanent live space because retail's future is live, and we intend to be the ones building it."

Klipboard Launches Autowork for Independent Auto Repair Shops

New cloud-native platform brings shop operations together, with practical AI built in and access to a wider range of connected Klipboard automotive solutions as businesses grow.

CARY, N.C., Oct. 6, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Klipboard, the industry-specific business software company, has introduced Autowork, a shop management platform that is both cloud-native and AI-native. The new solution is designed to give independent aftermarket auto service centers one place to manage their day-to-day operations.

Klipboard already has an established presence across the automotive aftermarket, supporting businesses with software designed around the way the industry works. Its enterprise platform, Autowork One, powers some of North America's largest tire and service networks. Autowork builds on that experience with a platform designed around the day-to-day demands of running a profitable, independent automotive service business.

Autowork brings appointments, repair orders, customers, vehicles, parts, inventory, tires and invoicing together in one platform, giving businesses greater control over their operations and reducing the need to rely on multiple disconnected systems. Its parts catalog is built natively into the system, with tire lookup, quoting and fitted pricing included, so fitment and pricing stay in one place rather than in a separate tool.

Artificial intelligence is already at work on practical, everyday tasks. Autowork's AI-assisted scheduling capability helps identify suitable appointment opportunities without manually working through the shop schedule, with more AI capabilities planned.

Dean Petrone, CEO of Klipboard North America, said: "Automotive businesses need technology that makes running their operation easier, not just more technology. That's what we're setting out to achieve with Autowork. We've spent years building software for enterprise tire and service networks, and Autowork shapes that same understanding of the industry around what a single shop actually needs."

For tire businesses specifically, Autowork's dedicated functionality supports tire lookup, quoting, fitted pricing and supplier integration, helping tire specialists manage tire work alongside wider service, maintenance and repair operations.

Autowork also connects with Klipboard's wider range of automotive solutions, letting businesses start with what they need today and add capabilities such as e-commerce and payments as requirements grow.

"A shop shouldn't have to buy everything on day one, and it shouldn't have to start again with another provider every time it needs something new. With Autowork, businesses can start with what they need and add more from Klipboard as they grow," Petrone said.

Autowork is designed to be straightforward to set up, learn and use, and is available now for independent, single-location automotive repair shops, service centers and tire businesses.
