CEDARBURG, Wis., Oct. 9, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- How can Wisconsin homeowners recognize when their windows are no longer keeping out the cold? According to a HelloNation article, Roofing and Window Expert Ryan Chesak of C&K Services Inc. in Cedarburg, Wisconsin, outlines the warning signs of failing windows and explains how timely upgrades can reduce winter energy loss and improve comfort. His advice focuses on understanding window performance, identifying seal failures, and selecting the best replacement windows Wisconsin winter conditions demand.

As temperatures drop, Wisconsin homeowners often notice rooms that feel colder near the glass or drafts that appear when the wind blows. These are the first signs of drafty windows, a common issue in aging homes. Chesak explains that over time, window seals weaken, allowing cold air to seep through the frame and raise heating costs. When a home's insulation is compromised, furnaces must work harder to maintain temperature, leading to both discomfort and higher energy use.

Condensation between panes is another key indicator of window failure. In double-pane or triple-pane units, this fogging or frost means the insulating gas, often argon, has escaped, breaking the seal between layers of glass. The HelloNation article emphasizes that condensation between panes is not just cosmetic; it signals that the window's insulating barrier no longer functions properly. Once this happens, heat escapes more easily, and frost can form on the inside surfaces during cold snaps, accelerating material wear.

Windows that leak air or moisture often go unnoticed until heating bills spike or visible damage appears. Chesak notes that peeling paint, warped frames, or sticking sashes are all signs that window materials have begun to deteriorate. In Wisconsin's harsh climate, these small gaps can quickly widen, allowing cold air and moisture inside. Over time, that leads to frost buildup, damaged seals, and even interior mold. Replacing drafty windows before severe cold sets in helps homeowners avoid these problems while reducing overall winter energy loss.

The HelloNation feature highlights that modern technology makes today's replacements far more efficient than older models. Energy efficient window upgrades Newburg WI homeowners choose now include double or triple-pane glass filled with insulating gas and coated with Low-E layers to reflect heat indoors. These designs minimize energy transfer and help stabilize indoor humidity levels. Chesak explains that with new window installation, Wisconsin homeowners can immediately notice improvements in both comfort and utility costs.

In addition to lower heating expenses, new windows offer several long-term benefits. Enhanced insulation reduces outdoor noise, while UV-blocking coatings protect interior furnishings and flooring from fading. Many homeowners also find that energy efficient window upgrades Newburg WI contractors install boost curb appeal and overall home value. In older neighborhoods, upgrading windows can be one of the most noticeable and effective ways to modernize a home's appearance while improving energy efficiency.

Timing, according to Chesak, plays a crucial role in successful window replacement Wisconsin projects. The best period for installation is before winter arrives, when mild temperatures allow for proper sealing and caulking. Attempting to replace windows during freezing conditions can make installation slower and may delay immediate energy savings. The HelloNation article recommends scheduling inspections early in the season, especially for homes with single-pane glass or windows that are more than twenty years old.

Selecting the best replacement windows Wisconsin winter conditions require involves balancing cost, durability, and design. High-performance windows are designed to handle subzero temperatures while maintaining tight seals against wind and snow. Chesak advises that homeowners look for multi-pane construction, sturdy frames, and verified energy ratings. Pairing these products with professional new window installation ensures lasting performance and reliable insulation through many cold seasons to come.

Proper installation is just as important as the product itself. Even the most advanced window technology cannot perform well if seals are poorly applied or frames are misaligned. Chesak stresses that professional window replacement Wisconsin services guarantee correct fitting and sealing, which helps maximize efficiency and prevent air infiltration. A qualified installer ensures the home remains protected against drafts, leaks, and frost buildup for the long term.

By addressing window performance early, homeowners can avoid unnecessary winter energy loss and maintain a more comfortable living space. The combination of tight window seals, insulated glass, and professional installation provides consistent warmth and helps lower utility bills throughout Wisconsin's demanding winter season. Chesak's advice underscores that replacing old or drafty windows is not only about comfort but also about preserving energy and protecting a home's structural integrity.

The article outlines Medicare enrollment periods, coverage options, and how retirees can avoid penalties and gaps in healthcare.

KALAMAZOO, Mich., Oct. 9, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- When should retirees sign up for Medicare if they are turning 65? That question is answered in a HelloNation article featuring insights from Joe Garcia, "Retirement Joe," of SMG - SafeHarbor Management Group in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

The HelloNation article explains that understanding Medicare enrollment is essential for retirees who want to avoid penalties and maintain continuous healthcare coverage. While many people assume enrollment is automatic at age 65, the article clarifies that this is not always the case. Planning ahead helps Michigan retirees access benefits on time without facing unnecessary long-term costs.

The article describes the Initial Enrollment Period, which begins three months before a person's 65th birthday month, includes that month, and continues for three months afterward. This seven-month window allows eligible individuals to enroll in Medicare Part A and Part B, along with Part D prescription drug coverage if needed. Missing enrollment deadlines without qualifying coverage can result in delayed benefits or higher premiums.

Medicare coverage is divided into different parts, each serving a specific purpose. Part A focuses on hospital care, skilled nursing, and limited home health services, while Part B covers outpatient care, doctor visits, and preventive services. Part D provides prescription drug coverage through private plans. The article highlights how understanding these benefits helps retirees prepare for their healthcare needs.

For retirees who continue working past age 65, employer-sponsored insurance may affect enrollment decisions. The article explains that some individuals can delay Part B enrollment without penalties if their employer coverage meets Medicare requirements. However, rules vary depending on employer size and plan structure. Verifying coverage details before delaying enrollment can help prevent unexpected expenses.

The article also reviews additional enrollment periods that may apply. The General Enrollment Period runs from January 1 through March 31 each year, with coverage beginning the month after enrollment. Special Enrollment Periods may be available for individuals who lose qualifying employer coverage or experience certain life changes. Understanding these timelines helps retirees avoid gaps and potential penalties.

Prescription drug coverage is another important consideration discussed in the article. Part D plans have separate enrollment requirements, and delaying enrollment without creditable drug coverage can result in penalties. Retirees with qualifying employer or union prescription benefits may delay Part D, but the article notes the importance of maintaining documentation.

In Michigan, retirees are also encouraged to consider supplemental coverage options. The article explains that Medigap plans can help cover out-of-pocket expenses such as deductibles and co-pays. These plans are tied to Medicare enrollment timing, and purchasing coverage later may result in higher premiums or fewer choices. Reviewing options early can help retirees prepare for medical expenses.

Throughout the discussion, Retirement Planning Expert Joe Garcia, "Retirement Joe," is featured as a source of insight into Medicare enrollment and retirement healthcare planning. The article emphasizes that understanding Part A, Part B, and Part D deadlines helps retirees make informed decisions about coverage. It also highlights the importance of reviewing existing insurance before choosing when to enroll.

The article concludes that careful planning is essential for avoiding penalties and maintaining consistent healthcare coverage. Michigan retirees should understand their eligibility, review enrollment deadlines, and consider how employer insurance and supplemental plans affect their options. Taking these steps can support a smoother transition into Medicare at age 65.

When Should You Sign Up for Medicare If You Are Turning 65? Features insights from Joe Garcia, "Retirement Joe," Retirement Planning Expert of Kalamazoo, Michigan, in HelloNation.

The pharmaceutical excipients market is experiencing growth due to several key factors, such as the increasing demand for generic drugs and pharmaceutical products and increased R&D investments to develop novel excipients.

Recent advancements and regulatory shifts have significantly reshaped the pharmaceutical excipients market. The US FDA's Novel Excipient Review Pilot Program allows independent assessment of new excipients, accelerating innovation. The rise of biologics and mRNA therapies has increased the demand for lipid nanoparticles and advanced stabilizers, driving investments by companies like Evonik and BASF. Additionally, 3D printing technologies are fostering the development of printable excipients for personalized medicine. There is also growing interest in clean-label, plant-based excipients due to consumer and regulatory pressures. Together, these trends are pushing the industry toward safer, more functional, and highly specialized excipient solutions.

The organic chemicals segment accounted for the largest share, by product, in the pharmaceutical excipients market in 2025.

The global pharmaceutical excipients market is segmented by product type into three main categories: organic chemicals, inorganic chemicals, and other chemicals. Among these, organic chemicals comprise compounds primarily made up of carbon atoms bonded with other elements through covalent bonds. These substances are commonly used in pharmaceutical formulations due to their favorable chemical properties and compatibility with active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs). One of the key advantages of organic chemicals is their generally non-toxic nature, making them safer for drug development and manufacturing. This characteristic is anticipated to significantly contribute to the growth of the organic chemicals segment within the excipients market. As the pharmaceutical industry continues to expand and innovate, the demand for safe and effective excipients is expected to rise. Consequently, the organic chemicals segment is likely to play a crucial role in propelling the overall pharmaceutical excipients market forward during the forecast period. The increasing focus on patient safety, regulatory compliance, and formulation efficiency further strengthens the market outlook for organic excipients. As a result, organic chemicals are positioned to remain a dominant and growing category in the global pharmaceutical excipients landscape over the coming years.

The lubricants & glidants segment will be the second-fastest-growing segment by functionality in the pharmaceutical excipients market.

The lubricants & glidants segment is expected to register the second-fastest growth rate in the pharmaceutical excipients market during the forecast period. This growth is largely driven by their critical role in improving manufacturing efficiency. Lubricants and glidants are essential in solid dosage formulations, particularly tablets and capsules, as they help reduce interparticle friction and minimize cohesion among powder particles. By improving powder flow, these excipients enable smoother tablet compression and encapsulation, leading to more consistent product quality and reduced production downtime. In high-speed manufacturing environments, where precision and efficiency are paramount, lubricants and glidants significantly decrease the risk of mechanical issues such as sticking, picking, or clogging equipment. Furthermore, the demand for scalable and cost-effective pharmaceutical production processes continues to rise, especially with the increasing global need for solid oral medications. These factors collectively contribute to the growing importance of lubricants and glidants in formulation development, making them a key segment with strong future potential in the evolving pharmaceutical excipients landscape.

Pharmaceutical Excipients Market - Investment & funding +Merger & Acquisition

Investment and Funding Context

Investment activity in the pharmaceutical excipients market is increasingly concentrated around portfolio consolidation, expansion of specialty-excipient capacity, regional supply security, and formulation-enabling technologies. Large suppliers are directing capital toward functional polymers, pharmaceutical cellulose, high-purity biopharma ingredients, film coatings, inhalation excipients, and technical application centers rather than only adding commodity capacity. The objective is to strengthen positions in higher-value drug-delivery applications while reducing supply-chain risk for regulated pharmaceutical customers.

The funding profile of the market is dominated by strategic corporate investment and acquisition financing rather than venture-capital funding. The most significant recent transaction was Roquette's acquisition of IFF Pharma Solutions, which materially expanded Roquette's global excipient and drug-delivery portfolio. At the same time, companies including Evonik, BASF, Shin-Etsu Chemical, Colorcon, Croda, and DFE Pharma have continued to invest in manufacturing, quality infrastructure, formulation support, and regional capacity. These investments indicate that future competitive advantages will increasingly depend on scale, regulatory-grade manufacturing, customer proximity, and technical support in complex formulations.

Revenue Shift Context

The pharmaceutical excipients market is gradually shifting from a largely volume-driven revenue structure dominated by conventional excipients toward a broader mix of specialty, multifunctional, and formulation-enabling products. Revenue generation is increasingly influenced by the complexity of drug molecules, the growing number of poorly soluble APIs, expansion of modified-release and specialty formulations, adoption of biologics and peptide therapeutics, regulatory expectations, and the ability of suppliers to provide consistent quality, technical support, and secure global supply. Conventional products such as sugars, starches, mineral salts, and basic fillers continue to represent important revenue pools, while higher-value categories such as functional polymers, solubilizers, advanced coatings, cyclodextrins, co-processed excipients, and high-purity parenteral excipients are gaining importance.

As formulation complexity increases, revenue is expected to shift toward suppliers capable of offering differentiated excipient technologies, broad application coverage, regulatory documentation, and formulation-development support. Strategic acquisitions and portfolio expansion, such as Roquette's acquisition of IFF Pharma Solutions, are also reshaping competitive revenue distribution by consolidating specialty excipient capabilities under larger suppliers.

NuxGame Launches Provider-Independent Tournaments, Leaderboards, and Races Across Its Casino Platform
Image File
Original HTML

Operators can now run competitions on any provider's games with their own prizes, point rates, and entry rules, with no provider approvals needed

LIMASSOL, Cyprus, Oct. 9, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- NuxGame, a B2B iGaming software provider, has launched tournaments, leaderboards, and wager races as a native part of its casino platform. The new mechanic works on any game from any provider in an operator's library, with no approvals from studios, and is available to both real-money and sweepstakes casino operators from today.

Built Into the Platform, Not Plugged In

Most tournament mechanics in iGaming are run by individual game studios, which limits operators to the providers that offer them and to the terms those providers set. NuxGame has built its own tournament engine into the platform, so the rules, the prize table, and the point rates belong to the operator and apply across any mix of providers from the library.

Tournaments are part of the NuxGame gamification toolset alongside bonuses, achievements, and tier programs, and they are designed to do three commercial jobs: lift average bet size, direct player attention to the games an operator wants played, and hold retention across a full campaign period rather than a single session. They can run daily, weekly, monthly, or over any custom period, including wager races scored on turnover.

The mechanic is not limited to real-money projects. On a sweepstakes casino, the setup flow, filters, and leaderboard work the same way, with prize types adapted to that model.

What Players See

Each online casino on the platform gets a dedicated tournaments page listing every upcoming and finished tournament. Each entry carries a banner, a short "How it works" block, the rules and conditions written by the operator, the prize table, the list of eligible games, and a live leaderboard.

The leaderboard updates in real time: a player places a qualifying bet, points are added, and their position moves, so they always see where they stand and how far they are from the next prize. Operators can also display the active tournament on the casino homepage, where it updates on its own.

What Operators Control

Setup runs through the NuxGame back office, and every step is a commercial lever:

- Schedule. Start and end dates and the calculation time, with the system showing how many days the tournament will run.

- Prizes. Ranks and rewards for each place: cash to the player's balance, shop points, or experience inside the operator's tier program. The system totals the full prize cost before activation.

- Games. Selection by provider, game type, category, or individual title across everything connected through the casino API integration, using the same filter already used for bonuses, achievements, and tiers. At launch the feature covers casino content.

- Point rates. A base rate for how much turnover earns a point, with per-game overrides to raise the rate on titles the operator wants promoted and lower it on titles it does not want farmed.

- Entry thresholds. A minimum qualifying bet, a minimum number of bets, and a minimum total turnover. Players adjust their stake to qualify, which is the practical reason tournaments raise average bet.

- Banner and copy. Custom banner, colors, primary and secondary prize display, a countdown timer, and "How it works" and rules text in every language the operator runs.

To protect the points economy, risk settings include a control that excludes turnover-risky games — titles flagged for transaction behavior that lets players generate more points than the mechanic intends. Operators can run up to ten tournaments at the same time, and campaign results are available in platform reporting. Segmentation, allowing a tournament to target a specific tier or players active in a given set of games, is the next planned addition.

A Margin Instrument, Not a Banner

"Operators have been asking for tournaments for a long time, and the usual answer was to wait for a provider to run one and accept whatever terms came with it. We built our own engine so that stops being the case. You pick the games, you set the prizes and the point rates, and you decide who qualifies. Point overrides are where this turns from a promotion into a margin instrument: the games you want played pay better, and the ones you do not want farmed pay less. That is a lever operators simply did not have before."

— Denis Kosinsky, Chief Product Officer at NuxGame

Three Ways Operators Can Use It Now

- Launch new titles with a points race instead of a static banner, so the promotion comes with a leaderboard rather than artwork alone.

- Build campaigns around the calendar — Halloween, winter holidays, a local event — by pointing the tournament at the slots that fit the season.

- Bring tournaments to provider negotiations. Many studios have no tournament mechanic of their own, and a dedicated tournament on their games is promotional value an operator can trade against commercial terms.

Tournaments are available to NuxGame operators now. Existing clients can speak to their account manager about a first campaign, and operators evaluating the platform can request a demo to see the setup flow end to end.

NEW YORK, Oct. 9, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- SuperCom (NASDAQ: SPCB), a global provider of secure solutions for the e-Government, IoT, and Cybersecurity sectors, today announced that it has won two new county-level electronic monitoring contracts with adult and juvenile probation agencies in the state of Texas. The awards represent SuperCom's fourth and fifth contracts since its recent expansion in the state in December 2025 and fully displace the county's incumbent electronic monitoring providers.

Under the contracts, SuperCom will deploy its proprietary PureOne GPS solution to support county's juvenile and adult supervision programs. The contracts follow a recurring revenue model based on daily active units, further expanding SuperCom's recurring revenue customer base. SuperCom was selected following a multi-week live-unit evaluation in which its PureOne technology was tested against competing solutions.

"Two agencies with different populations and needs, each weighing a change from its existing provider, arrived at the same decision," commented Ordan Trabelsi, President and CEO of SuperCom. "Replacing an incumbent is a considered step for any agency, because it requires confidence in the equipment, the support behind it and the transition itself. Being selected for both the adult and juvenile programs in the same county tells us those factors are being judged on their merits. Our focus now is on delivering a seamless changeover for both programs."

"Texas illustrates how our U.S. business is being built," Trabelsi added. "We entered the state in December 2025 with a single juvenile probation agency, and every one of our five Texas contracts to date has involved replacing an incumbent provider. Nationally, with these new wins we have secured more than 50 new electronic monitoring contracts since mid-2024, and in Europe we have accumulated more than 20 national project wins, frequently against long-tenured incumbents. That record is built customer by customer, and it is the clearest case we can make to each new agency we meet."

SuperCom's PureOne is an all-in-one GPS tracking bracelet designed for continuous indoor and outdoor location monitoring. The solution combines high-precision GPS, cell-tower and Wi-Fi positioning with secure LTE communications, configurable zones and schedules, multiple tamper-detection mechanisms and extended battery performance. Its lightweight, ergonomic design and integrated monitoring capabilities provide correctional and public safety agencies with a reliable and efficient platform for managing community-supervision programs.

Expanding horizons and inspiring growth through local youth engagement

MACAO, Oct. 9, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Sands China and NBA Cares jointly presented School Daytoday, the third event of the "NBA Cares x Sands Cares Community Impact Week" at Yuet Wah College, Macau. The event welcomed the return of NBA legend Mitch Richmond –– a 2002 NBA champion, six-time NBA All-Star, five-time All-NBA Team, and 2014 Basketball Hall of Fame Inductee –– to Macao, joining NBA coaches in visiting a local campus to engage with young Macao basketball players through a range of activities, including basketball skills training and cultural exchange experiences.

It was a valuable platform for teachers and students to gain insights from international basketball elites, while giving an NBA legend and coaches a firsthand look at the talent and potential of Macao's young athletes. The event underscores Sands China's long-standing commitment to the Macao community and its dedication to fostering a positive, inclusive and caring society. By bringing the impact of a premier international sporting event to the local community, the company aims to inspire positive youth development through this meaningful initiative.

School Day brought together around 600 participants, including Mitch Richmond and NBA coaches and management, alongside teachers and students from Yuet Wah College and Colégio Dom Bosco (Yuet Wah), senior management from Sands China, and the Sands Cares Ambassadors.

During the event, Mitch Richmond and NBA coaches led a dedicated basketball clinic for members of the boys' basketball teams from Yuet Wah College and Colégio Dom Bosco (Yuet Wah), who each won their division's championship in this year's Inter-School Basketball Competition in Macao. Through hands-on guidance and skills demonstrations, the basketball clinic provided precious learning opportunities for the students, inspiring and encouraging them in their pursuit of excellence.

Dr. Wilfred Wong, executive vice chairman of Sands China Ltd., said: "We would like to express our sincere gratitude to the Macao SAR government and various sectors of society for their long-standing support of our community initiatives, with special thanks to Yuet Wah College for arranging this initiative. These collective efforts provided a valuable opportunity for Macao's youth to learn from world-class sports elites. We are delighted to extend the impact of this international sporting event to a local school through School Day, leveraging the power of sports to nurture talent and foster cross-cultural exchange. This initiative not only provided young basketball players with an opportunity to enhance their basketball skills through close interactions with an NBA legend and coaches, but also inspired them to learn from the perseverance and pursuit of excellence that define world-class athletes. Today's event exemplifies Sands Cares' commitment to serving the community, fostering youth development, cultural exchange, and stronger social cohesion through meaningful engagement.

"Looking ahead, Sands China will continue to support the Macao SAR government's 'Tourism+' policy –– by drawing on international events in Macao to create more opportunities for the local community and younger generation to connect with the world and broaden their horizons, while showcasing Macao's unique appeal as a diverse and inclusive city on the global stage.

Ng Teng Kuong, principal of Yuet Wah College, said: "We are pleased to join hands with Sands China and NBA Cares to bring this meaningful campus activity to our students. The initiative provided members of our basketball team and fellow students with an invaluable opportunity to learn from an international basketball star, encouraging them to embrace a positive mindset both on and off the court. Through School Day, we brought the positive impact of an international sporting event into our school and the wider community, providing students with a unique opportunity to enhance their basketball skills, engage with world-class athletes, and expand their horizons. We sincerely thank Sands China and the NBA for their care and commitment to Macao's youth. Looking ahead, we will continue to strengthen collaboration with stakeholders across different sectors, creating more opportunities for students to engage with the wider world and unlock their full potential."

Beyond basketball exchange, the event featured meaningful cultural interactions. Students from Colégio Dom Bosco (Yuet Wah) delivered an electrifying freestyle rope-skipping performance on-site, showcasing the energy and diverse talents of Macao's youth. Accompanied by teachers and students at the school, NBA legend Mitch Richmond participated in a Chinese calligraphy session, learning firsthand the techniques of brushwork and ink application while gaining a deeper appreciation of the richness of Chinese culture. The experience fostered cultural exchange between East and West.

To further extend the positive impact, Sands China and the NBA donated basketballs and training equipment to Yuet Wah College, while establishing a new "Basketball Corner" on campus. Featuring a basketball-themed design, the space integrates areas for reading, social interaction and recreation, aiming to enrich students' campus life and extracurricular experiences while fostering a positive sporting culture.

School Day ended on a warm and cheerful note as students were presented with goodie bags assembled during the Impact Week's Tip-Off Day, conveying care and well wishes while encouraging them to pursue their dreams and challenge themselves to reach new heights.

Guests attending the School Day event included: Kathy Behrens, president of social responsibility and player programs of NBA; Wayne Chang, managing director of NBA Asia; NBA legend Mitch Richmond; Ng Teng Kuong, principal of Yuet Wah College; Iu Pek Fong, principal of Colégio Dom Bosco (Yuet Wah); Dr. Wilfred Wong, executive vice chairman of Sands China Ltd.; and Hubert Wang, chief operating officer of Sands China Ltd.

The "NBA Cares x Sands Cares Community Impact Week 2026" is taking place over five consecutive days, Oct. 7-11, featuring a diverse programme of activities focused on youth development, healthy living and community inclusion. Current NBA players and legends will engage with communities across Macao, with the initiative seeking to extend the impact of the NBA sporting event into the community and enable more Macao residents to experience the positive energy and excitement generated by the world-class basketball event.

The fourth event of Community Impact Week, Health and Wellness Day, will take place tomorrow (Oct. 10) at the Fuhong Society of Macau's Happy Kitchen Social Enterprise. During the event, an NBA legend, Sands China senior management, and Sands Cares Ambassadors will assemble and distribute boxed lunches to people in need in Macao, extending care and support to the local community.
