Many fall hazards are hiding in plain sight at home, AAOS advises during Falls Prevention Awareness Week

Orthopaedic experts highlight overlooked household hazards and practical steps to help prevent serious fall-related injuries.

ROSEMONT, Ill., Sept. 16, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Most older adults know to watch for icy sidewalks and uneven pavement, but some of the biggest fall risks may be found inside the home. During Falls Prevention Awareness Week, Sept. 21-25, the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) is encouraging older adults and their families to take a closer look at overlooked hazards such as loose rugs, poorly lit hallways and hard-to-reach household items that can contribute to serious injuries.

Falls are the leading cause of fatal and nonfatal injuries among adults 65 and older, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). More than 14 million, or 1 in 4, older adults report falling each year. And while falls are preventable, the age-adjusted fall death rate among older adults increased 21% between 2018 and 2024.

"A fall can happen in a split second, but the injury that comes from it can have a much longer impact," said orthopaedic trauma surgeon Michael F. Githens, MD, FAAOS. "We see older adults with broken wrists, hip fractures and other serious injuries from falls that happen while they're simply going about their day at home. That's why prevention is so important."

Take a room-by-room look at fall risks

Making a home safer doesn't require a major renovation. Start with the rooms and pathways you use every day and look for small changes that can reduce the chance of falling:

- Bedroom and nighttime pathways: Keep floors free of clutter and make clothes and shoes easy to reach. Use nightlights to illuminate the path between the bedroom and bathroom, particularly for middle-of-the-night trips.

- Bathroom: Secure loose rugs with slip-resistant backing and consider installing grab bars on shower walls. Keep the room well-lit, including using a nightlight.

- Stairs and hallways: Remove boxes, cords and other clutter from walkways. Install handrails on both sides of the stairs and make sure halls and stairways are adequately lit.

- Kitchen: Store dishes, cooking equipment and other frequently used items within easy reach rather than climbing or stretching to retrieve them. Clean up liquids, grease, and food spills immediately.

- Living spaces: Arrange furniture to maintain clear walking paths between rooms, and secure loose area rugs with double-sided carpet tape or slip-resistant backing.

- Entryways and outdoor paths: Keep the route between the front door, driveway and mailbox well-lit and free of debris and other tripping hazards.

Families can play an important role in fall prevention, too. Look for hazards that an older loved one may have grown accustomed to or may not recognize as a risk, from a loose rug to children's toys left in a walkway.

Fall prevention extends beyond the home environment. AAOS also encourages older adults to talk with their physicians about medications that may cause fatigue, dizziness or confusion; have regular vision and physical examinations; wear properly fitting shoes with nonskid soles; and participate, when appropriate, in activities that improve strength, balance and coordination.

"Preventing falls isn't about being afraid to move; it's about making it easier to keep moving," Dr. Githens said. "Small changes at home, combined with strength and balance activities, can help older adults stay confident, active and independent. Families can help by looking for risks together before a fall happens."

Endra unveils Power Studio, the first AI platform purpose-built for electrical engineering, acquires Planlabs to build out the mechanical discipline

Endra unveils Power Studio, the first AI platform purpose-built for electrical engineering, acquires Planlabs to build out the mechanical discipline

- Backed by Andreessen Horowitz, Notion Capital and Norrsken VC, Endra unveils Power Studio, the first agentic platform for electrical engineering

- Endra has also acquired Swiss AI firm Planlabs to bring mechanical engineering AI in-house

LAS VEGAS, Sept. 16, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Endra, the AI platform for mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) engineering, today unveiled Endra Power Studio, the first agentic platform purpose-built for electrical engineering. Alongside it, Endra announced the acquisition of Planlabs, a Swiss AI lab building an AI for mechanical engineering.

Every building eventually runs into the same constraint: the engineering capacity required to make it real. As the world races to build data centers, electrify infrastructure and meet net-zero targets, this bottleneck has become the limiting factor on construction itself.

MEP engineering is a $150 billion+ global services market, constrained until now by the number of engineers in the world. When Revit took off, the firms that moved fastest took the largest share of the construction market. AI will redraw that map again.

The bottleneck inside every building on earth:

MEP engineering sits behind every major project – engineers calculate loads, size systems, place thousands of devices, route cabling and piping, and produce the documentation contractors build from. For 25 years that work has been done across tools never built to talk to each other: draft in Revit, calculate in Excel, coordinate in Navisworks. On every project, engineers are the API, and the industry cannot train MEP engineers fast enough to keep up.

What Endra Power Studio does:

Endra Power Studio replaces that patchwork with one platform that runs the electrical design end-to-end. The engineer loads the building model, sets the requirements and instructs agents to run the design, reviewing and signing off at each stage. A code-compliant electrical design for a 500,000 square foot commercial building, work that traditionally takes around two months, can be completed in less than a day. For engineering firms, the economics change: more projects delivered faster, with the teams they already have.

Core features:

- Playbooks: Firms store their engineering standards in Playbooks: unit placement, circuiting, code interpretation, calculation methods. Every agent and workflow in Endra works from them, so designs follow the firm's own practice, and that knowledge stays with the firm when senior engineers retire.

- Agents: Engineers delegate defined tasks to agents, which draw on every engine in the platform. Defined tasks like building a routing strategy, placing units across a room type and updating a model against architectural revisions.

- Simulation: Engineers can confirm a design works before anything is built. Endra's physics engine checks the design against laws of physics and against building code, sizing every cable and calculating every voltage drop.

- Type Rooms: Engineers working on healthcare, multi-family residential and hotel projects can design one room, and have an agent apply it across every matching room in the model. What used to mean repeating the same design hundreds of times is done once.

"Endra takes care of the repetitive work, and gives the engineers back the time for judgment and design," said Niklas Lindgren, CEO and Co-Founder of Endra. "A firm's engineering judgment is its product, and Playbooks let a firm hold that as a standard its whole team designs against, with the engineer setting the requirements and signing off at every stage."

These features lay the foundation for the document engine to run. From the document engine, the engineer can generate the Revit model, single line diagrams, shop drawings, panelboard schedules and bill of materials, so documentation stays connected to the design. Engineers stay in full control throughout, and Endra does not train its models on customer data. The platform is SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 certified, Cyber Essentials Plus assessed and GDPR compliant, with data hosted regionally.

Toward the full MEP platform: the acquisition of Planlabs:

Endra Power Studio covers electrical engineering. A plumbing module will follow in 2027, and the acquisition of Planlabs adds mechanical engineering to the roadmap.

Founded in Switzerland in June 2024, Planlabs is a team of five PhDs in mathematics and computer science. Its geometry, data and physics engines design mechanical systems automatically and check them against physical constraints, which is the groundwork for bringing mechanical engineering onto the Endra platform. The team joins Endra as a technology and talent acquisition – mechanical capabilities will follow in the Endra platform once technology integration is complete.

"We started Planlabs with the belief that mechanical systems can be engineered fundamentally differently, automatically generating coordinated, collision-free solutions while keeping the engineer in control. " said Rea Sodero, Co-Founder and CEO of Planlabs. "With Endra, we have found a team that shares this vision and has the ambition, technology and reach to bring it to engineers around the world. Together, we have the opportunity to build something much bigger: a platform that transforms how every MEP discipline is engineered."

Founded in 2024, Endra works with enterprise consulting firms including AtkinsRéalis, Ramboll, Buro Happold, Hoare Lea and AFRY. The Power Studio launch and Planlabs acquisition follows a $50 million Series A led by Andreessen Horowitz, with earlier support from Notion Capital and Norrsken VC, and comes as Endra expands from Stockholm into New York, San Francisco and London.

Greenbaum, Rowe, Smith & Davis Launches Data Center Development & Infrastructure Practice

ISELIN, N.J., Sept. 16, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Greenbaum, Rowe, Smith & Davis LLP, a prominent New Jersey law firm serving business clients, private clients, and public clients, today announced the launch of its Data Center Development & Infrastructure practice. The new practice area provides legal support to developers, operators, investors, lenders, and other financing parties engaged in the siting, construction, and operation of data centers and related infrastructure.

Uniting capabilities across the firm, the practice team acts as lead counsel or as local New Jersey counsel for national and international law firms and developers. Attorneys blend regulatory depth with transactional expertise to help clients advance their private enterprise, shared colocation, hyperscale, and localized edge data center projects.

The firm advises clients throughout the project lifecycle, including site selection and land use approvals, environmental permitting, energy and utility matters, regulatory matters, real estate structuring, project financing, tax incentives, and community engagement. The team also assists owners and operators with energy procurement, ongoing regulatory requirements, and infrastructure matters that arise once a facility becomes operational.

Barbara J. Koonz, who leads the newly formed practice, said: "Greenbaum's work in this sector is not a new development, as our attorneys are currently advising clients on major data center projects throughout New Jersey, including developments involving billion-dollar investments. Formalizing this work within a dedicated practice reflects both the changing needs of our clients and the firm's continued evolution. Our practice team brings together the firm's deep New Jersey expertise across land use, environmental, energy, real estate, finance, and tax incentives to help move these complex projects forward."

About Greenbaum, Rowe, Smith & Davis

For more than 100 years, Greenbaum has helped shape how New Jersey works, representing businesses, public entities, and individuals with interests in the Garden State and surrounding areas. Known for understanding the "ins and outs" of handling legal challenges in the state, the firm has a network of longstanding business, legal, and government relationships that translates directly into an advantage for its clients. Because many legal challenges do not fit neatly within a single discipline, Greenbaum brings together attorneys across practice areas to provide coordinated advice, allowing clients to address complex, interrelated transactions and disputes within a single firm.

CEO Coaching International Welcomes GreenBanana SEO as Platinum Strategic Partner to Help CEOs Win Search Visibility in the Age of AI
Image File
Original HTML

MIAMI, Sept. 15, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- CEO Coaching International, the leading CEO coaching firm for growth-focused CEOs and entrepreneurs globally, proudly welcomes GreenBanana SEO as its newest Platinum Strategic Partner.

Founded in 2009, GreenBanana SEO is a three-time Inc. 5000 digital growth agency specializing in Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Answer Engine Optimization (AEO), Generative Engine Optimization (GEO), and AI search visibility. As a Platinum Partner, GreenBanana SEO will provide CEO Coaching International's community of CEOs and entrepreneurs with access to specialized expertise designed to help companies remain visible as search undergoes one of the most significant transformations in its history.

According to the company, since consumers and business buyers are no longer relying solely on traditional Google results and are increasingly asking questions through AI-powered platforms (e.g., ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude), it is no longer enough for a company to rank — it increasingly needs to become one of the sources AI trusts, cites, and recommends.

"How customers discover a business has fundamentally changed, and most CEOs haven't caught up to what that means yet," said Randy Dewey, CEO of CEO Coaching International. "GreenBanana gives our clients a partner who understands both sides of that shift — ranking on Google today and being the answer AI recommends tomorrow. That's the kind of forward-looking expertise our community needs to stay ahead."

"Search is going through the biggest structural change I've seen since starting GreenBanana," said Kevin C. Roy, Founder and CEO of GreenBanana SEO. "For twenty years, companies competed to get onto page one of Google. Now they also have to compete to become part of the answer itself. That's why this relationship with CEO Coaching International makes so much sense. Their clients are CEOs who are constantly asking where the next competitive advantage is coming from. AI search is one of those advantages right now. Our job is to help them understand where they stand, where their competitors are beating them, and what they need to do to become more visible in both traditional and AI-driven search."

Through the partnership, CEO Coaching International clients will gain access to GreenBanana's capabilities across several areas, including:

- SEO + AI Visibility Diagnostics — evaluating how a company appears across Google Search, Google Maps, AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude, and other emerging discovery platforms

- Competitive AI Search Analysis — identifying which competitors are being surfaced, recommended, or cited, and why

- SEO, AEO & GEO Strategy — an integrated roadmap covering technical SEO, content architecture, entity development, structured data, and AI citation readiness

- Content Credibility & Authority Development — strengthening the signals that connect content to credible companies and subject-matter experts

- Google Maps & Local Search — improving Google Business Profile optimization and local visibility

- Paid Media & Demand Generation — extending organic visibility through Google Ads, Meta, LinkedIn, YouTube, and other performance channels

- Conversion & Revenue Measurement — connecting rankings, traffic, leads, and CRM data so leadership teams can evaluate marketing based on business impact, not vanity metrics

This partnership builds on an existing relationship between the two organizations: Roy previously joined the CEO Coaching International podcast for The CEO's Guide to SEO, AEO, and Humanizing Your Digital Marketing, where he discussed how search is evolving beyond traditional rankings. Roy is also the author of The Coherent Mountain: The Operator's Playbook for Winning SEO, AEO, and AI Search.

U.S. Money Reserve Marks 25 Years of Growth, Serving More Than 1 Million Clients

Original HTML

AUSTIN, Texas, Sept. 16, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- U.S. Money Reserve, one of the nation's largest private precious metals distributors, is marking its 25th anniversary.

Growing from a company founded by precious metals market experts in 2001 into a national organization, U.S. Money Reserve has served more than 1 million clients and completed more than $4.4 billion in transactions.

Over the past 25 years, U.S. Money Reserve has shipped 5.1 million precious metals products while expanding its offerings and capabilities to meet the evolving needs of the marketplace. Throughout its growth, the company has remained focused on the principles that defined it from the beginning: trust, transparency, client education, and personalized service.

"This anniversary is both an opportunity to reflect on how far U.S. Money Reserve has come and to look ahead to what's next," said Angela Roberts, Chief Executive Officer of U.S. Money Reserve. "The needs of our clients and the precious metals market have evolved considerably over the past 25 years, and we have evolved with them. As we enter our next chapter, our focus is on continuing to earn our clients' trust while finding new ways to provide the expertise, education, and service they need to make informed decisions about their financial futures."

The evolution has included expanding U.S. Money Reserve's expertise to precious metals IRAs and investing in educational resources, market insights, special reports, and digital tools designed to help clients make informed decisions. Reflecting the company's continued growth, U.S. Money Reserve recently expanded its Austin, Texas, headquarters to accommodate its growing workforce. The company also maintains offices in Scottsdale, Arizona, and Houston, Texas.

"Over the past 25 years, investors have navigated periods of extraordinary economic change, from financial crises and inflation to geopolitical uncertainty and shifts in monetary policy," said Philip N. Diehl, President of U.S. Money Reserve and former Director of the U.S. Mint. "Through those cycles, precious metals have remained an important part of the conversation about diversification and long-term financial planning. What has changed is the amount of information available to savers and the ways they access the market, making trusted expertise and perspective more important than ever. Providing that guidance has been a central focus for U.S. Money Reserve."

Since its founding, U.S. Money Reserve has also significantly expanded its precious metals offerings, including government-issued products, exclusive coin series, and precious metals IRA options. That growth has been supported by its team of numismatic professionals who provide clients with product information and market knowledge at every stage of ownership.

"The longstanding relationships we have built across the precious metals industry have enabled us to continually expand the breadth and quality of the products we offer," said John Rothans, Chief Procurement Officer at U.S. Money Reserve. "Those relationships are critical to our ability to provide clients with products distinguished by their quality, authenticity, and craftsmanship."

The company has continued to invest in the technology, operational infrastructure, and talent needed to support its growing client base without sacrificing its personal approach to service. That growth and commitment to its clients and employees have earned the company recent recognitions. U.S. Money Reserve was named the #1 Precious Metals Distributor by Equity Trust Company based on the number of new IRA accounts opened and funded in 2024 and 2025, and the company also received a Greater Austin Top Workplaces 2025 award from the Austin American-Statesman, an honor based solely on confidential employee feedback.

"As our client base has grown, we have invested in the technology and infrastructure needed to make every interaction more responsive, secure, and seamless," said Michael Koch, Chief Information Officer at U.S. Money Reserve. "We have continued to modernize our infrastructure without losing the personal service that has defined the company for 25 years."

As U.S. Money Reserve enters its next chapter, the company will continue to invest in client education, new products and services, and the people and technology that support its mission of helping Americans protect and diversify their wealth.

Pilates Addiction builds on traditional Pilates principles while incorporating strength, conditioning, mobility and athletic intensity into a high-energy, full-body workout. Its 50-minute classes are designed to challenge experienced members while remaining approachable for first-timers.

At the center of the workout is the brand's patented Aurum™ Reformer, exclusive to Pilates Addiction, which combines a reformer, jump board, ballet barre and Wunda Chair into one full-body training system. Classes are led by certified Pilates Educators, with formats ranging from strength and conditioning to mobility and recovery.

For the Calles, the goal is to create more than another place to work out. They want the studio to reflect the community they've watched evolve around them and create a space where people can challenge themselves while still feeling connected.

"We've watched this community evolve for nearly two decades," said Alex Calle. "We wanted to create a place that feels like Craig Ranch: active, welcoming, and connected, but also gives people a reason to challenge themselves in a completely new way."

Pilates Addiction McKinney – Craig Ranch will feature the brand's signature modern studio environment, premium equipment, curated lighting and energetic group-class atmosphere. The Calles envision it as a place where experienced Pilates enthusiasts can find their next challenge, newcomers can discover a different side of Pilates and neighbors can connect through movement.

VARVAGLIONE 1921 NOMINATED FOR WINE ENTHUSIAST'S 2026 'ENVIRONMENTAL ADVOCATE OF THE YEAR AWARD'

Fourth-generation Puglian winery recognized for its commitment to biodiversity, indigenous grape varieties and climate resilience

LEPORANO, Italy, Sept. 16, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Varvaglione 1921, the fourth-generation family-owned winery from Puglia, Italy, has been nominated for Wine Enthusiast's 2026 Wine Star Award for Environmental Advocate of the Year, recognizing the winery's ongoing commitment to environmental stewardship, biodiversity and the preservation of Puglia's indigenous grape varieties. The annual Wine Star Awards honor individuals and companies making outstanding contributions to the wine, spirits and beverage industry, with this year marking the 27th anniversary of the award.

For the Varvaglione family, environmental advocacy is deeply connected to the preservation of Puglia's winemaking heritage. Varieties such as Susumaniello and Negroamaro are central to the family's history and identity, and Varvaglione has made their preservation and promotion a key part of its work. Through this commitment, the winery is helping safeguard Puglia's unique viticultural heritage while exploring new ways to protect its biodiversity and ensure its continued vitality.

"I am deeply honored to see Varvaglione 1921 recognized by Wine Enthusiast as a nominee for Environmental Advocate of the Year. For our family, caring for the land and preserving Puglia's unique biodiversity have always been closely connected to our identity as winemakers. This nomination is a meaningful recognition of the work our entire team has undertaken to protect our heritage while looking toward the future. We are proud to continue investing in research, biodiversity and sustainable practices that can help ensure Puglia's vineyards remain vibrant for generations to come," said Marzia Varvaglione, Owner of Varvaglione 1921.

At the heart of this work is Varvaglione's biodiversity vineyard, an experimental field dedicated to studying the potential of grape varieties from across the Mediterranean and Balkans. The vineyard hosts more than 500 grape varieties, creating a living resource for research into viticultural biodiversity, heritage preservation and climate resiliency. In May 2026, Varvaglione 1921 further expanded this work by acquiring Casino Nitti, a historic property where the family is cultivating minor and Balkan grape varieties and developing a new experimental field dedicated to biodiversity. Through these initiatives, Varvaglione is looking beyond the varieties traditionally associated with Puglia to better understand the genetic diversity that could shape the future of viticulture.

That commitment to long-term environmental stewardship also extends to the winery itself, where Varvaglione has invested in renewable energy and continues to support research and share knowledge around sustainable viticulture. Together, these initiatives reflect the family's belief that protecting Puglia's natural resources and winemaking traditions are inseparable from ensuring the region's future.

Founded in 1921 by Cosimo Varvaglione, Varvaglione 1921 is now led by the family's fourth generation. For more than a century, the winery has remained rooted in Puglia, with a focus on expressing the character of the region through its native grapes and distinctive terroir. Today, the family continues to balance this heritage with forward-looking research and environmental initiatives designed to preserve Puglia's vineyards for generations to come.

Varvaglione 1921's nomination for Environmental Advocate of the Year underscores the winery's belief that the future of Puglian wine depends not only on producing exceptional wines, but on protecting the biodiversity, heritage and natural resources that make the region unique.
