Three new scanning modes bring near-100%-accuracy, up to 20X faster batch barcode scanning, now with cloud export and visual proof for compliance.

VANCOUVER, BC, Sept. 22, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Dynamsoft announced a major update to its Batch Barcode Scanner app, introducing three scanning modes and expanding availability to iOS, following the app's original release on Android. The update also adds cloud export, giving teams a complete workflow from capture to compliance-ready record in a single app.

Three Scanning Modes for Three Kinds of Environments

Different scanning environments call for different workflows. Batch Barcode Scanner's redesigned interface now offers three dedicated modes to match the job:

- Field of View (FOV) Scan Mode captures all barcodes visible within the camera view in a single pass, ideal for fast counting and verification in clean, controlled areas such as shelves or tabletops.

- Snap & Scan Mode lets users define a target scan region first, so only barcodes inside that area are detected — built for environments like warehouse shelves or pallet racks where irrelevant codes may otherwise interfere with accuracy.

- Panorama Scan Mode stitches multiple images into a single composite scan, enabling users to sweep across inventory areas too large to fit in one camera frame, such as full warehouse racks or bulk storage.

Together, the three modes give operators more control and higher accuracy across a wider range of real-world scanning conditions, from small, controlled batches to oversized bulk inventory.

Built-In Visual Proof for Audit and Compliance

Beyond scanning, the app generates a stitched panoramic image of the entire scan with every barcode position visually marked, creating a shareable record for regulatory audits and traceability. Scan records can be uploaded to cloud storage and reviewed through a web viewer, with barcode positions exportable as CSV for integration with ERP, WMS or LIMS systems.

In testing, Batch Barcode Scanner has achieved read rates above 99%, with scanning time 20 times faster than manual counting.

"With three dedicated scanning modes now available on both iOS and Android, we're giving teams in pharma, logistics, and lab environments a single app that adapts to how they actually work," said Amy Gu, CEO at Dynamsoft. "The addition of built-in visual proof means every scan is not just fast, but audit-ready."

Availability

Dynamsoft Batch Barcode Scanner is available now for iOS and Android, with a free trial available for download on the App Store and Google Play.

SEI Enhances Integrated Tax Management Capabilities for Greater Portfolio Flexibility and After-Tax Outcomes

Expanded Mutual Fund Integration, Tax Transition, and Gains Budget Capabilities Help Advisors Align Portfolios with Investor Objectives

OAKS, Pa., Sept. 22, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- SEI® (NASDAQ: SEIC) today announced enhancements to its integrated tax management capabilities for separately managed accounts (SMAs) and unified managed accounts (UMAs), expanding advisors' ability to personalize portfolios, manage embedded unrealized gains, and pursue improved after-tax outcomes for investors.

SEI's integrated approach to tax management is designed to incorporate tax considerations across portfolio design, implementation, trading, and ongoing management. The latest enhancements build on SEI's nearly two decades of tax overlay experience and a significant expansion of tax-management capabilities in 2025, further strengthening the firm's offering by broadening the universe of eligible securities, increasing flexibility during portfolio transitions, and providing advisors with greater systematic control over capital gains realization.

As demand for tax-aware investing continues to rise, advisors are increasingly looking for scalable ways to deliver personalized tax-management solutions. In fact, 92% of advisors serving high-net-worth investors report being asked for tax guidance1, while 76% of firms identify improving tax management capabilities as a top development priority2.

The enhancements further support coordinated tax-loss harvesting, wash-sale awareness, portfolio optimization, and investor reporting through SEI's integrated tax-management process. New capabilities are designed to give advisors greater control and flexibility, including:

- Expanded asset eligibility designed to incorporate eligible mutual funds* alongside exchange-traded funds (ETFs) and individual securities within SEI's tax-management framework, expanding opportunities to transition existing portfolios while seeking to minimize tax consequences.

- Enhanced tax transition optionality, where a new implementation option provides greater flexibility for investors with significant unrealized gains, enabling portfolios to transition over time based on balancing tax-sensitive objectives with traditional tracking-error constraints.

- Greater gains budget control and systemization that enables advisors to establish specific annual net realized gains targets, helping them align portfolio implementation and ongoing management with investor tax preferences and planning objectives.

Erich Holland, Head of SEI's U.S. Wealth & Advisor Business, said:

"Investors no longer view tax efficiency as a complementary benefit to portfolio management; they expect it to be embedded in the investment process. These enhancements reflect our continued commitment to making tax management more intentional, flexible, and integrated throughout the investor experience.

"By expanding eligible assets, introducing greater flexibility for tax-sensitive transitions, and giving advisors more precise control over gains realization, we're helping them deliver a more personalized experience while seeking to improve after-tax outcomes. Tax management is not simply a feature—it is a central philosophy that should inform how portfolios are designed, implemented, and managed over time."

The Biological Computing Co. Partners with AWS to Bring World's First Neuron-Derived AI Video Model to Market
Image File
Original HTML

TBC's neuron-derived optimization delivers 5x faster inference at 80% lower cost, with plans to scale across AWS Trainium, Amazon SageMaker AI, and AWS Marketplace.

SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 22, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- The Biological Computing Co. (TBC), an applied biological computing company that uses real neurons to improve AI models, today announced a collaboration with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to deliver the world's first neuron-derived AI video model to market.

Built on an open-source video generation model, TBC's optimized text-to-video model delivers 80% lower inference costs and 5x faster generation, while improving quality compared to the base model. The model is enhanced by a lightweight, proprietary software layer derived from measurements of living neural activity. The software layer adds less than 0.1% to the underlying model and runs entirely on conventional AI infrastructure. No biological hardware or new customer workflow is required.

"Our partnership with AWS takes neuron-derived AI optimization to commercial scale," said Alex Ksendzovsky, CEO and co-founder of TBC. "We're turning discoveries from real neurons into faster, cheaper AI for businesses and creators. More importantly, biology gives us a fundamentally different engine for discovering better optimization strategies over time."

Under the collaboration, TBC and AWS are working across multiple layers of the AI stack.

"Nature solved the computing efficiency problem billions of years ago. TBC's insight is that we can learn from the original computer—the human brain—to make AI faster, more efficient, and more economical," said Jason Bennett, Vice President and Global Head of Startups and Venture Capital at AWS. "By building on the AWS AI stack and leveraging go-to-market channels like AWS Marketplace, TBC can move from discovery to commercial scale at startup speed. This is exactly the kind of bold, forward-leaning innovation we love to support at AWS."

TBC plans to run its optimized model on AWS Trainium, make it deployable through Amazon SageMaker AI, and pursue commercial distribution in AWS Marketplace. This will allow customers to access TBC-optimized models within AWS environments and workflows they already use.

For companies deploying generative AI, inference efficiency directly affects product economics. Lower cost per output allows a platform to serve more users with the same infrastructure. Faster generation helps creators and businesses iterate more quickly. Better quality reduces the number of failed or unusable generations that still consume time and compute.

"Compute is becoming one of the biggest constraints on AI," said Jon Pomeraniec, co-founder and COO of TBC. "We need more infrastructure, but we also need to make every unit of compute dramatically more productive. Lower inference costs mean more companies can afford to build, scale and put powerful AI to work."

This is the first commercial product created through TBC's discovery process. Each biological experiment adds to the company's neural-response data, understanding of biological computation and library of potential algorithms. TBC plans to apply the same process to additional AI models and architectures, followed by applications across other AI workloads.

This will allow brands to reach a broader audience of on-demand consumers, especially Gen Z and Millennials, tapping into sales during all hours of the day and amplifying more immediate grocery shopping behavior as part of the growing Carrot Ads ecosystem. In addition to Instacart Ads ecosystem campaigns, advertisers will continue to have the option to activate campaigns specifically on Gopuff's digital storefront through their Instacart team.

Carrot Ads extends the same technology, optimization, and accredited measurements that powers advertising on the Instacart Marketplace to ecommerce partners, giving them access to enterprise-grade retail media built for grocery. Gopuff will be utilizing Carrot Ads customization options to tailor the ad experience to fit the needs of their platform and consumer behavior.

Gopuff Ads continues to work directly with brands on bespoke, full-funnel activations, driving brand awareness through custom onsite and offsite experiences, product trial through sampling, and smarter advertising decisions by turning best-in-class, first-party insights into on-demand shopping behavior. As both a retailer and a media partner, Gopuff Ads turns its direct brand relationships and the immediacy of the channel into awareness, trial and lasting loyalty.

Carrot Ads is a retail media platform from Instacart that enables partners — including grocers, marketplaces, and commerce platforms — to build or grow their own retail media businesses. Free, hands-on projects developed with Clay, Figma, Gamma, Google, Lovable, Notion, OpenAI, Replit, Salesforce, Southern New Hampshire University, and Vercel to help people build and showcase practical AI experience

SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 22, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Handshake, the career network for the AI economy, today launched AI Skills Studio, a free learning hub where job seekers can build practical AI skills through hands-on projects created with some of the world's leading AI companies and employers.

AI Skills Studio offers personalized, project-based "missions" that take between 10 and 45 minutes to complete. Learners work in the AI tools used by practitioners, with an AI Skills Instructor providing guidance and feedback along the way. Every mission ends with something tangible the learner has built, from an automated workflow to a working piece of software. Early users have built everything from interactive games and data dashboards to personal portfolios and tools that prepare them for roles in sales and marketing.

Completed projects can be added to a learner's Handshake profile and featured in the AI Showcase, putting their work in front of more than one million employers that use Handshake to find talent. Learners also receive a verified skill badge, giving employers evidence of applied AI ability.

"AI is changing work so quickly that we can't afford to wait until we have it all figured out," said Julia Stiglitz, Chief Education and Workforce Officer at Handshake. "The best thing people can do is start learning and start building. Handshake is in a unique position to make that possible at scale, working with some of the world's leading AI companies to help job seekers develop the skills employers need and connect those skills directly to employment."

The launch comes as Handshake research points to growing demand for AI preparation alongside academic learning. In Handshake's 2026 Network Trends Report, 58% of graduating seniors say they will need a stronger understanding of AI to succeed at work, but only 28% say AI has been meaningfully integrated into their education program. With AI tools and workplace expectations changing quickly, students and institutions need flexible, career-connected ways to complement existing curricula.

AI Skills Studio launches with partners spanning frontier AI, enterprise technology, go-to-market work and software creation, and schools including Clay, Figma, Gamma, Google, Lovable, Notion, OpenAI, Replit, Salesforce, Southern New Hampshire University, and Vercel.

"AI fluency is essential to career readiness, and reducing the capability gap can accelerate opportunity for students and early-career professionals," said Brian Johnsrud, Head of Education Engagement at OpenAI. "Together with Handshake, anyone can use ChatGPT and Codex for engaging, real-world projects to learn agentic ways of working and acquire tangible proof and durable skills."

"At Google, we believe that everyone should have access to high-quality training to gain in-demand skills to help them succeed," said Lisa Gevelber, Founder, Grow with Google. "We're proud to partner with Handshake on AI Skills Studio to help students and job seekers build hands-on experience with Google AI tools and workflows, empowering learners to showcase their work and grow their careers."

For employers, AI Skills Studio creates a more direct way to evaluate emerging skills. By connecting learning, demonstrated work and hiring in one place, employers can see how candidates apply AI rather than relying solely on what they write on their résumés.

"Employers know they need people who can work effectively with AI, but a résumé can't tell you what someone is truly capable of," said Jon Stull, Chief Operating Officer at Handshake. "AI Skills Studio gives job seekers a way to build that evidence, and gives employers more to go on when deciding who to hire."

AI Skills Studio builds on Handshake's acquisition of Uplimit, the AI-native learning company founded by Stiglitz. Uplimit's project-based learning technology and methodology now power an experience connected to Handshake's job seeker, education and employer network.

AI Skills Studio is available from today for free on the Handshake website and mobile app. Explore the launch missions here.

Rula Health Launches Rula CARES, External Council for AI Ethics and Safety in Behavioral Health
Image File
Original HTML

New advisory council brings together clinical, academic, and AI experts to help guide the responsible development and evaluation of Rula Health's AI-enabled products.

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 22, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Rula Health, a nationwide behavioral health provider ("Rula") delivering accessible, high-quality care, today announced the formation of the Rula Clinical AI Review, Ethics, and Safety Council (Rula CARES), an external advisory council of clinical, academic, and AI experts who will provide independent perspectives as Rula moves from concept to development of AI-enabled products.

Rula CARES will provide an additional layer of expert review as Rula advances its technology capabilities, bringing outside perspectives to help inform responsible and ethical implementation and align Rula's approach with emerging industry standards and best practices.

The council will provide guidance across several areas, including:

- Clinical safety and risk mitigation

- AI ethics and responsible development

- Informed consent and transparency

- Applications of AI in clinical care

- Measurement of patient and provider outcomes

- Alignment with emerging AI standards and best practices

Council meetings are planned for a quarterly cadence, with a focus on retrospective case review and prospective guidance on planned development. Individual advisors will also be leveraged to provide guidance on specific projects that align with their given expertise.

Rula's approach to AI is grounded in the belief that technology should strengthen the role of clinicians and enhance the delivery of high-quality mental health care, not replace the human relationship at the center of therapy. Rula CARES puts that philosophy into practice by bringing independent expertise into how AI-enabled products are developed, evaluated, and integrated to administratively support care.

"Our philosophy is that the future of mental health care should be AI and therapy, not AI or therapy," said Dr. Doug Newton, Chief Medical Officer at Rula. "AI can play an important role in supporting care, but clinicians must remain at the center of it. As these technologies evolve, we have a responsibility to ensure they're developed and used with appropriate clinical oversight, and with the same rigor and commitment to patient safety that guide every aspect of our care. This group will help us hold that bar as we explore how AI can best support behavioral health care."

"This council represents deep expertise in all facets of AI clinical development, from how we obtain informed consent to how we demonstrate that our AI-enabled features are safe and effective," said Dr. Tim Campellone, Director of Clinical Product. "Their collaboration and guidance will help us build on the already high clinical care quality foundation that Rula is known for."

The launch of Rula CARES reflects Rula's commitment to bringing diverse perspectives on clinical care and technology to the evolving conversation around AI in behavioral health. By engaging respected authorities across clinical, academic, and technology communities, Rula is creating an ongoing dialogue to help thoughtfully shape how AI can complement clinicians and expand what's possible in mental health care, while bringing the perspectives of leading experts into how these innovations are introduced to providers and the broader field.

Bob's Red Mill Brings Back Its National Good Neighbor Day Tradition, Inviting Americans to Bake for a Neighbor

Actor and author Lauren Graham teams up with the brand to share her favorite recipe and simple ways to connect with neighbors

PORTLAND, Ore., Sept. 22, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- In celebration of National Good Neighbor Day on September 28, Bob's Red Mill is inviting people to create meaningful moments of connection by baking a homemade treat for a neighbor. For nearly 50 years, Bob's Red Mill has been a leader in the homemade food movement, championing the power of food to bring people together.

Now in its second year, the annual tradition is part of Bob's Red Mill's Moregetherness ("More" + "Togetherness") movement, a multiyear campaign to help people build stronger connections through homemade food.

This year, actor and bestselling author Lauren Graham is helping Bob's Red Mill bring Moregetherness to life. Beloved for bringing warmth and humor to one of television's closest-knit communities, Graham is sharing a cozy new recipe made for dropping off at a neighbor's door or enjoying together over a cup of coffee, along with her perspective on how simple gestures can create a greater sense of connection.

Lauren Graham's Cozy Recipe for Connection

In honor of National Good Neighbor Day, Graham is sharing her recipe for Gluten Free Banana Coffee Cake Muffins featuring Bob's Red Mill's recently perfected Gluten Free 1-to-1 Baking Flour. Made with sharing in mind, the muffins put a gluten free spin on a cozy fall favorite. The recipe uses the versatile flour blend as a one-to-one swap for wheat flour, offering an easy way to reach out to all—whether that means dropping off a batch for a new neighbor, bringing some to a longtime friend or lingering over coffee together around the kitchen table.

"I don't think being a good neighbor requires a grand gesture. Making something you love and sharing it with someone is a simple way to say, 'I'm thinking of you,'" said Lauren Graham. "As someone who's gluten free myself, I love that Bob's Red Mill makes it easier to bake something that more of your neighbors can enjoy. That's what Moregetherness is all about— little moments of connection, preferably with something delicious involved."

The Power of Food to Bring People Together

While National Good Neighbor Day celebrates connection, the need for everyday connection remains clear. The U.S. Surgeon General has reported that approximately half of U.S. adults experience loneliness, while the CDC recognizes strong social connection as an important contributor to mental and physical well-being. Bob's Red Mill's own 2025 national survey found that among those participating in food-sharing with neighbors, 53% reported that they never felt lonely, and 56% said sharing food strengthened trust and relationships within their neighborhood.

"At Bob's Red Mill, we've always believed homemade food has a unique ability to bring people together," said Daniel Barba, Vice President of Marketing at Bob's Red Mill. "National Good Neighbor Day gives us an opportunity to put that belief into action and invite people everywhere to experience how one small gesture can open the door to friendship and create more connected communities."

Join the Good Neighbor Day Celebration

To inspire as many acts of Moregetherness as possible this National Good Neighbor Day, Bob's Red Mill is offering a coupon to redeem one free product (up to $8.99 value) starting September 22, while supplies last. Bob's Red Mill has also created a free, downloadable Neighbor Hour toolkit designed to make gathering neighbors easy and approachable. The toolkit offers printable invites, menus and signage to help turn National Good Neighbor Day—or any day—into an opportunity to get better acquainted with the neighbors.

Graham's recipe, details on how to claim the free product offer, and additional inspiration for creating everyday moments of connection can all be found at moregetherness.com.

'Chrysalis' Earns Strong Vietnam Response Ahead of April 2027 U.S. Premiere

The U.S.-Vietnam family drama, starring veteran Vietnamese actress Kieu Chinh, drew positive critical attention during a special, limited theatrical engagement in Vietnam.

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 22, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- The WS Productions film "Chrysalis," a U.S.-Vietnam family drama inspired by artist Sir Daniel K. Winn's childhood, opened in Vietnam on Sept. 11 to a positive response from critics and audiences ahead of its April 2027 U.S. premiere, presented by the Beverly Hills Film Festival.

Vietnamese coverage has highlighted the restrained performances of Kieu Chinh and Uy Nhan and the film's intimate portrayal of family, memory and separation. ELLE Vietnam singled out the conviction of their grandmother-grandson interplay. Harper's Bazaar Vietnam wrote that the film's first theatrical screening left a lasting impression through the film's understated, emotionally resonant treatment of family, roots and intergenerational memory.

During its opening week, the film held an 8.2 average from 211 ticket-holder reviews on MoMo, a Vietnamese ticketing platform. A Sept. 11 Kenh14 report, citing Box Office Vietnam data, placed the film at No. 4 in a daily box-office snapshot.

Directed by J. Robert Schulz from a screenplay by Andrew Creme, "Chrysalis" follows young Daniel's coming-of-age journey in 1975 Saigon and the bond with his grandmother, Bà Nội, which anchors the story. Kieu Chinh stars as Bà Nội. Uy Nhan portrays Daniel as a child, while Winn appears in the present-day storyline.

The Vietnam opening brings the U.S.-Vietnam production to audiences in the country where its story is set. The film opened locally as "Mãi Nợ Một Lời Tạm Biệt," rendered in English as "The Farewell I Never Gave." Its international title remains "Chrysalis." The film also stars Samuel An, Lan Thy, Le Anh Huy, Tien Pham and Trinh Tu Trung. WS Productions produced the film.

WS Productions elected to make the Vietnam run a special, limited theatrical engagement, allowing audiences in the country that shaped Winn's early life to see the film before its planned U.S. premiere in April 2027.

"Chrysalis" made its market debut at the 2026 Marché du Film in Cannes, where it held two market screenings. At DANAFF IV, Kieu Chinh received the Screen Excellence Merit Award for her screen career spanning nearly seven decades and more than 100 roles.

At the Los Angeles Tribune International Film Festival, the film received five honors: Best Feature Film; Best Director for J. Robert Schulz; Best Actress for Kieu Chinh; Best Child Actor for nine-year-old Vietnamese actor Uy Nhan; and Best Orchestral Score for Motion Picture for "Chrysalis," composed by Elia Cmiral. At nine, Uy Nhan became LATIFF's inaugural Best Child Actor and one of the youngest documented Vietnamese recipients of a U.S. film-festival acting award.

The April 2027 U.S. premiere, presented by the Beverly Hills Film Festival, will coincide with the 52nd anniversary of the end of the war in Vietnam. It will introduce the film's story of family, displacement and remembrance to U.S. audiences while building on its Vietnam response.
